tractor dilema.

so i am currently sorta trying to sell/trade my e21 (tractor).

anyways my friend says hey ill trade you my e30 for it, i go wat e30? you have an e30?

so heres the story.

122k manual tranny,
been sitting for 10 years he says?
so automatically i know all the fluids have to be changed and i cannot trust that SOB timing belt at all.

he says "all you need is new tires and a new battery and it will run"
but he is not mechanically inclined what so ever.

anyways my tractor isn't all too bad, needs brakes and maybe some U joints. radio is MIA and high beams are the only lights that work (needs new dual filament beams.)
280k, fresh water pump, thermostat, added a fan shroud, brand new tires on the turbines, new CSB and guibo.
interior is meh, exterior isn't too shabby.

what do you guys think?
I'm pretty sure if i got the e30 and had it in good running shape i could sell it for more than my tractor would fetch....

just a thought for the hell of it.

Maybe if it were a plastic bumper car, otherwise it seems like after you put in the work needed on the E30 vs fixing your 21 you will be @ about even money & effort. From my perspective you are trading a car with more character for one with less, but I guess the grass is always greener.

Id do it just 'cause the body is clean, get's fantastic MPG's as a daily stock cruiser and early e30's rock the metal euro bumpers oh sooooo well!

not sure why you even need the two cars. maybe sell the one you like more once the eta is done (im assuming you drive the e21 right now)

Does this make no sense at all or is it just me? Your zinno will be running soon, it takes more time than the new one would, and what? What would you not want?


And it seems like you wanna just make the zinno your daily and sell the tractor, but you could sell this for more...if that's your goal I'd say go for it.

If your e30 is going to be running soon then don't do it. If not, then do it. Your goal at all times should be to own a running and driving e30. Once you get that your new goal is to swap every thing and throw money at it.
