Not really, what if you have a bad camera on your phone such as I do on mine. Or your phone is dead etc. With disposable cameras you can keep in there and use it at anytime granted you swap them out once in a while.

if the owner wants to retain its resale value of the car. it is standard procedure to replace the part/panel than to repair it. Plus it is usually cheaper to replace than repair.

Which is hilarious when all of these armchair experts are on about repainting it. You can likely just get the whole panel prepainted and installed for less than it would take to attempt to PDR the plastic and then strip and repaint the thing.

Young, old, in between, people are inconsiderate disrespectful a-holes.

I was in my e92 m3 last week waiting for my pops to finish up in the hardware store. I was in the end spot of the row and all the way in the far side of the spot next to the curb.
This old guy (probably about 75 years old) in a 70s ford pickup pulls in next to me close, decides he's not close enough, backs out, pulls in CLOSER, then WHAM, intentionally slams his door open into the side of my car about as hard as one can open a door.

I immediately got out and he looks at my door, then his and laughs. Said, "don't worry sonny, my doors fine! I put these protector strips on it for when i hit bmws." Then starts walking away. I was fuming as i went to see if there was any damage.
Luckily it hit the plastic handle on my car perfectly on the rubber door strip of his shitty pickup and didn't leave a mark, not for his lack of trying.
Guy then says, "you a lawyer? I told my wife i better be careful parking next to this bmw because this guys probably a lawyer..." and he just walks away w/ his wife then into the hardware store. WTF.

So I filed the claim with their insurance company, I had my insurance file it for me with me on the line.

They will send a claims adjuster out this week. I sent the pics to the insurance.

They came back and said the daughter/father is disputing the claim. So be it, pictures are evidence enough.

The insurance company cannot say she is not liable for this damage.

Had he been more respectful to me during our conversation as I was to his daughter and himself I might have settled out of insurance, but as you can see his character is of a someone who is unwilling to say they are wrong.

Just picture, officer said he couldnt create a report on it. I am calling the police department so I can get his Name and badge number to use as a witness.
