Eagle Project - need suggestions

Okay I am getting ready to start my eagle scout project.

My project is replacing the old wooden parking blocks at my VFW hall with a new parking barrier. I am also going to add some very nice benches to complete the project

The area where I am building the barrier is exactly 4 parking spaces long. There is a field behind the spots and there is a septic tank beneath it (which is why it is important a car doesnt drive over it)

I need ideas on how to build a parking barrier. I want something maybe two feet tall or so (any higher I think would look stupid). It is 4 spots long so I dont want a Berlin Wall or anything, lol

I am open to ANY IDEAS you guys have. I am not a architect or home handyman at all. Please outline how I would build it properly. My budget should be fairly ample for what I want to do. If I need to dig holes and put cement foundation or whatever TELL ME :)

As far as the benches I am going to look up a nice design and construct them. I will stain them very dark and maybe decorate them, not sure.

Why not just put in wheel chock/bumpers like you see in any other parking lots? 4 railroad ties and some re-bar and you are done.

Still don't understand exactly what you want but I'm planning on college for architecture/civil engineering for college and have a chest of drafting equipment.

All I really want is a bunch of ideas thrown at me and some direction. I am not a home handyman and dont really have a vision for a project like this (yet).

I have a vision for cars, but not for this type of stuff

i planned something kinda like your describing for my eagle scout project but before it was approved i aged out and never got eagle......

but anyways try to use as little power tools as possible. try sinking logs into the ground and lashing top logs and use nails to support the lashings kinda like a hitching post from old saloons.

From what little to work with, I see a 30" to 36" tall, 18" wide, by whatever the length is single planter box, covered in T1-11, with a 2" or 3"x1" boarder trim, top and bottom, with a stained, mitered cap top, in a contrasting stain finish differing from the T1-11 color, with four individual, 5' benches on the backside, using the planterbox as a back rest.

Planterbox.. that is great idea dude! Half of that went right over my head.. but I assume you are saying make a 30" tall giant planterbox and build benches into the side

What is T1-11?

What would I make the box out of?

And as far as lashing things together.. thats cool and all but it wont last.

thats why you use nails and tons of wood glue my troop made something in the 70's and it is still holding up

I would use all pressure treated lumber. Use 8ft 4x4's for upright posts. Just them in half and you have 2 posts. Bury or cement them 2 ft into the ground, leaving 2ft sticking up. Place them 4ft. on center across the length of the spaces. Then use 8ft. either 2x4 or 2x6's across them with spacing in between. Board size and spacing would be based on how it looks visually.
