Why do sellers request that their buyers pay their PayPal fees? It's the price you pay for conveniently getting paid within milliseconds from anywhere in the world, suck it up.

i love buyers with this attitude.
it makes easy for guys like me to buy stuff.
the seller doesnt want to deal with buyers with attitudes so you lose out on something that is 5% more?

the way i see it, if the guy wants $100 cash picked up, he should get $100 out of the deal.
if there is shipping cost, buyer pays it. same with paypal.
whats even weirder is you are from jersey [is that near new jersey] and people from around the world know new jersey as the birthplace of refined class. were you born there or did you move there from someplace less civilized?

It's the sellers responsibility to price the item accordingly - that means including the paypal fees into the cost.

Also - I believe it's against the terms of service - at least it is for ebay. So there is that.

This, anyone asking the buyer to pay the fee simply sucks at selling. And it is against policy to ask for them, so now they suck at comprehension too.

I do not buy from those that advertise they want the fee paid, nor do I if they ask me afterwards. All deal breakers, as is the request to pay as a gift. People trying to buck the system for a few extra $ will certainly have no issue taking your money and not following through.

So if you're going to look at it that way, how about this. If a seller is not happy with Paypal's fee policy, they should not use Paypal. And instead, wait a week or two to get paid by another (free) method.

Not buying from the seller is the point. If you do not like the terms of the sale, do not buy from the seller, barber, grocery store, whatever. If you are willing to pay the full asking price of an item, i see no reason to ask the buyer to pay the fees. It you are paying less then the asking price, i don't see a problem with them asking you to cover the fees. Again, if you don't like that, then don't proceed with the deal.

Paypal is a benefit to.seller on that it gives you faster payment then mailing out a money order oro cashier's check. It also benefits the buyer in giving them fraud protection and presuming everything goes right, you will get your ítem in a more rápid fashion because the payment was recieved in a timely fashion insted of waiting on the USPS to deliver it.
Paypal also makes it easier to make transactions on a national or international basis. It benefits both not just the seller.

Have you ever walked into a place of business, pulled out your american express card to pay for an item, and were told they were going to charge you an additional 4% on your total to cover their fees? No. it's the price the merchant has to pay to do business.

Some places definitely charge more if paying by card.

Paypal fees should be the seller's problem. The buyer isn't getting charged sending a payment...it's the seller getting charged receiving the payment.

I've been scammed twice through sellers using paypal, however their service has came in clutch when it comes to raising claims and being reimbursed.

I've gotta say, I used PayPal to purchase a $1500 bike off Craigslist from across the country. I paid seller's fees because he was looking for a local transaction. The seller kept all of his promises and there were no issues, but PayPal assured me beforehand that if anything went wrong with the transaction they would guarantee a refund.

That was some good peace of mind.

To me, asking your buyer to pay YOUR paypal fee is like my barber asking me to pay a portion of his rent/utilities/insurance/whatever else is helping him stay in business.

Also, why should I pay YOU for a service we're both benefiting from and that you're relying on?

You're right, I could choose to not buy from a seller asking for the paypal fees, but that's not the point. Honestly if you are getting a deal, which 99% of the time it is, buck up and pay the tiny fee, don't be a whiny bitch, "oh no! I'm paying 2$ fee on a product that's already heavily discounted, boo hoo."

I still stand by my statement. If the seller states that the buyer must pay the fees, you have the option of not buying the item. Noone is holding a gun to your head to buy that mtech wheel, therefore you can either agree to the sellerse terms or buy from someone else.

Let's face facts, this is r3v, unless it is a new part being sold by someone like blunt or even
your products GG, you will have beat the seller up a little on the price. Once your price is set by market value, you are limited on your options for pricing the ítem to include fees and a haggle percentage in your initial price. This is why i quoted the above statement.

I always pay the fee. I consider it insurance against a bad transaction.
