ShopRite has GREAT quality... in terms of Low price, the food lasts long, and products are always in stock.

I want to start by saying I dont like Whole Foods at all. It is over priced and the people who shop there think they are way better then everyone ells.
How ever, there is a resin that the food at at ShopRight is cheaper and lasts longer. It is most likely a GMO crop, and has most likely been chemically treated and maybe even irradiate. If you want to put that kind of shit in your body just because it costs less and lasts longer go ahead. Remember, what you put in your body is what you get out.
Now im not perfect ether and I eat my share of crap, but really guys. Its a lot like your car. You put crap into it and the life of your motor goes way down and starts causing problems. What you eat is what you are.
I wish organic food was affordable, and I think it will be soon. I think it is a crime that the average American has no choice but to ingest poisons on a daily basis.
BUY LOCAL! If there is a farmers market in your area, or if you can buy direct from farmers do it. Most of the food in your local Safe Way, Target, Walmart comes from Mexico or other far off places. Keep the money in your community, eat healthy, and cut down on pollution created when you transport tomatoes from Mexico to NY.

I've been to Whole Foods a couple of times....way over priced and the 'hippie-to-normal-person' ratio was bad. For a moment I thought I was at a peace rally until I realized I was in the produce section.

I absolutely agree about buying local. I do this as often as I can....and not just for food, but for services/products that I may need. I will go to a mom-n-pop shop first before hitting up the big box alternative.

Didn't need a study to figure this out. I use to work for whole foods when they bought out the organic market I started at. Majority of the customers where fucking weird and stuck up. 1 hudge bitch that shops there would undo all your bagging if it wasn't perfect to how she likes, she would take what you just did and rearrange it. Also would alwasy ask for help, fat ass can't put your shit in the back of a van. Also when you would get to peoples cars there would always be just a bunch of garbage and horder shit in their cars filling it. Anyways I saw her at the gym a year ago and she was just sitting at the bottom of a walk way with stairs just blocking the whole fucking thing reading and stretching. Tons of people where just stepping over her, I walked over and stood there till she was like "can I help you" i told her look around your in the way can you move. Gives me a look like I'm the asshole. Fuck her.

I dont know where you live but in SF CA Whole Foods is frequented by the rich and trust fund kids. Thats just how it is here. I wish quality food was available more readily to more people.

the GF works there and all staff gets discounts on groceries. We also supplement our shopping with farmers markets too, for most of the celery, lettuce etc. but when winter hits, we are SOL.
