Yikes, glad the car is safe. Hope nobody was injured.
Since we're on the subject of the dumbasses who are running education, I finally start a weekend/evening program in the fall and should be done in 4 semesters. Their summer isn't condensed but a full regular semester so I planned on taking fall and 3 semesters in 2018 so I could be done by the end of the year. However my student loan situation is fucked because my first semester I'm taking 3 classes i.e. 9 units so they based my loan off of that, not the 12 I plan to take every semester after the first one. That means I'll have a little out of pocket in the fall, about $3k for spring and if I chose to do summer it's all on me...
Don't get me started on this summer either. I ant wait to be done with this degree and continue on in my career. Just having that paper has blocked me from so many promotions that I'll just deal with this BS and move on with my lifeSimon

Rally cross is fucking crazy. Even though you could argue that rally cross drivers are the most skilled and have the biggest balls, the more crash compilations I watch makes me think these guys are just maniacal idiots. All the crashes can be blamed on the driver going way too fast and plowing off course. Seriously, what's the strategy, floor it until you crash? Do you get extra points for plowing into a crowd of people?Last edited by E30 Wagen; 06-17-2017, 06:13 PM.

I'd like to point out that rally and rally-cross are different things. Since you're talking rally, a well organized event will prevent people from standing in likely run-off/overshoot areas. When they fail to do so, or something unexpected happens people can get hurt, but there's little we can do to prevent it as the courses cannot reasonably be made spectator safe the entire way.
As to strategy it's really just follow the instructions and drive the car on the limit, and as so much of rally is based on disrupting grip to facilitate corner connection or sharp maneuvering it's easy to get it wrong. Even so, if I had unlimited funds rally is where I would spend my seat time.

Rally takes talent and strategy is just to drive as close to the edge as possible and hope your co-driver doesn't mess up.
Rally ross is doing like 4-6 laps around a set course and one of them involve taking what is a call a joker lap which essentially lengthens the course for that one lap by a couple hundred meter. That has more strategy because you gotta know how far ahead and behind the other people are and then based upon that figure out when you should take the joker to give your self the best chance of coming out in first. You also have i think 3 or 4 heats and then your semi finals and finals
