Haha yeah, it works great for women our age. I laugh when I mention it to girls 24 or younger because it's totally lost. But man, 28-32yr old women just eat it up!
Match.com is like the giant bin of discount DVDs at Wal-Mart. If you look through enough you'll find something perfect for you, but you may have to wade through 100s of copies of Karate Kid IV and Caddyshack II to get it.
I used match. Went on some dates. Found love. Getting married.
Don't know if it's just here, but we have something called "events and adventures", where singles go do prearranged outdoor activities with other singles who are interested in the same event.
Ie: rock climbing, skiing/boarding, skydiving, zip line, etc etc. the even do cruises iirc.
It's sorta designed for people that are to busy for the "scene"
Buddy of mine met many chicks this way after his divorce, and is getting remarried to someone who loves all the same shit he does.
honestly OP, if you really wanna get comfortable with da womenz, take an intro acting class, esp. one where you are assigned a partner. it'll cost you about 150 a month but you'll get SOOOOOOOOOO freakin comfy around all kinds of hot chicks it'll make your head spin.
i was very much like you, I had many chics think I was cute, until i spoke to them. Then I just got all awkward and shit.
After taking acting classes, they would come over to my place to go over scripts and shit while my gf wasn't home and it was awesome! and sometimes the script would get pretty heavy, so then we'd kiss. The gf didn't liek ti much but quickly got over it.
Now when I meet a hawt chic, I have no problems talking to them like they were ugly. I even had this one striipper in vegas give me her number ( I didnt' even pay for a lap dance and wasnt' feeling too good after drinking too much blueberry vodka). We still keep in touch to this day.
I also seriously recommend yoga classes. I personally hate "regular" yoga cuz I can't stand that namaste background music and stuff, it's too distracting. I go to bikram yoga (hot yoga) twice a week and in Bethesda there are plenty of hot girls who go right after work during the week. I find it's easier to spark conversation at yoga than it is at a gym.
Plus, it's one hell of a work out and by far the best way to sweat out all the toxins and shit in your system.Comment

My girlfriend (who I met online 2 years ago) convinced me to try Yoga as her birthday request as I had refused it for months and months, being surrounded by all the girls is one thing, the intense workout is a pretty legit reason to go back though. The thing I fucking hated was the whole "connect with the earth" bs, I just wanted to workout, not improve my spiritual mindset or whatever1990 332i, 4 door

Oh and I just signed up for a service called It's Just Lunch. Sounds pretty cool overall, I spoke with a "matchmaker" today to see if they would be able to take me on as a client. I have my interview setup for next week.
Basically they do an extensive interview with you and get a really good idea of who you are and what you're looking for. Then they setup a date for you (lunch or dinner) based on your schedule, they even setup the reservation for you!
It's very discreet and targeted more towards "young" professionals (25-45). Kind of expensive but it sounds like it may be worth it. My "matchmaker" said that she'll hunt me down after my date to get feedback so she can setup better dates in the future.
I'll let y'all know how it goes.Comment

That's why I do bikram, it's about the workout and understanding how blood flow heals your body. None of this "connect with earth and be one with your spirit" shit.Comment

Met my wife online. It's a ton of luck and it's pretty hard to not come across as desperate or a cocky dick.
Match.com didn't work for me around here. But then again, I'm in the land of Mormons and the girls out here are a bit different.
We're old skool. The wife and I met on Myspace. :0)Comment
