I work at a Sherwin Williams and I would recommend you to use something more industrial quality, the "garage floor epoxy" kits are decent and look nice but wont hold up to gasoline/oil/etc. I would recommend something along the lines of armorseal 1000, its still a two part product but more geared towards industrial applications ex: solvents, heavy traffic, forklift abuse etc. Obviously the price does go up a bit depending on how tough of a product you use.

Gunna try out some lower end epoxy in the spare room of the basement at my moms. Getting a good idea of how much coverage and giving myself a little leeway in how much work needs to go into prepping the real garage floor. So far i've got the muriotic acid, a primer, then the paint. 1 gallon of each.
How were you guys applying the acid? Rollers? Pouring directly onto the floor? Mop?

as far as garage epoxy's go, we did one at my parents house about 6yrs ago, got it from home depot i believe. very simple grey and has a flake you can add in if wanted. pretty straight forward stuff. between stripping a few cars and doing plenty of motor swaps etc, the only areas that really came up were where something heavy was dropped, or where the jack stands had left imprints in the epoxy from too much weight/movement... its definately easy to clean, (brake fluid takes some work), but overall not bad.
we did the same stuff in my sisters garage and its been peeling in same random places, its all in the prep for sure...
