    Mexico

I am trying to plan a trip down the coast of baja, i need two sugestions from you guys. I need to find a car that holds 5 guys, is 1000 and below and a American beast. Something along the lines of Econolines, Astro vans, maby a town car but that would be a squeze. Also any good maps or somthign to get us driving down the coast or things we must see would be good. No tourist places just hardcore mexico.

Ford Taurus sedan or Mercury Sable wagon.

Don't laugh, I'm serious. It fits the bill.

caprice wagon could be sweet. I was also thinking a plymyth mini van because its a V6 not V8 and it gets good gas. I really do want to get drive out of mexico not walk though. I will look at the ford and mercurys.

When I moved here I used MSN's maps it was the only one I found that did mapquest type directions into Mexico.

It is very impoortant if you are going more than 20 or so miles into Mexico that you have proof of ownership in the name of the owner (registration) and that that person be there with a passport and a visa. (Mexican, not a credit card) They make you temporarily import the vehicle, you will need a cc to pay the fee as they do not accept cash and everything needs to be in the owner of the vehicle's name.
You will need copies of everything so if you do that before you hit the counter life will be easier. You do not need insurance but it is a good idea, but if you are a risk taker, thrill seeker it is not manditory (the sellers of insurance will tell you it is)

Enjoy your trip and also remember the cops are looking for young Americans to take money from so be careful and safe. If they pull you over be prepared to pay 200 pesos or so. (18.00) It is better to pay then lose time as you will pay more if you go to the Judge.
