It's because the northeast doesn't get hurricanes very often. A lot of people have a different perspective and grew up with much worse storms. Like someone that's from florida they are use to hurricanes much worse.
This is only a category 1.
Noone's doubting there is a lot of damage from flooding along the coast but if you look at it from a historical perspective it's only really significant because the northeast rarely gets hurricanes. This sort of thing is more like a yearly occurrence in the caribbean and typically much stronger hurricanes at that.
That said, i'm actually right in the hurricanes path with projected 74+ mph winds. But i'm not near the coast and i'm not in a low area that gets flooded. Everything I care about is inside either my house or my garage which are both concrete block construction. To actually pick up large objects or do serious damage to a house wind speeds have to be much more than this. So for me and most other people that aren't at sea level or live in a trailer, there's really nothing to worry about.
hmm.
makes sense...we're I'm at, we get absolutely nothing close to even remotely a hint of a hurricane.
we get snow.
and lots of it.
what you wrote does actually appease me slightly;-)
-man enough to admit when something concerns me

Thizzle has probably been to the future and knows how everything it going to pan out. He's just withholding the info so as to not create an alternate dimension.Leave a comment:

NE CT here, it's pretty fucking windy. No heavy rain yet, but I heard out shoreline is getting happened.
Also, for a while I was also thinking -'fucking media over hyped this one'.. I'm not so sure I believe that anymore. I think this IS going to get really really bad, specially for anyone near any shoreline.Leave a comment:

Thizzelle is obviously a rocket scientist, so his opinion on climate science and weather patterns is questionable. ;)Leave a comment:

Well, I am "stuck" here in Florida due to the storm... cancelled my flight back to Boston. Won't be able to fly out until Thursday night now. Already have high winds & flooding in NH/MA.Leave a comment:
