Disney has been putting out some really great movies the last few years. Starwars just got rock bottom shit, it can only get better IMO. Graphics and the teams the Disney has in their pocket will make a great movie.

It is kinda like Halo, 1-3 were fucking amazing. Each new title is just total shit now. 343 bought back the rights for Halo, so it can only get better...I hope. Same thoughts I have on Disney.

Nope, I'm serious. I hadn't watched the originals for some time so a while ago I dug out the VHS's that I had. The acting is just bad, wierd pacing, awkward editing, weak sword play, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.

I realize my opinions are outside of the majority. I'm not a big Star Wars fan to begin with, but the pod-race in Episode 1 is really sweet, and the light saber duel with Darth Maul, Liam Neeson, and Ewan Mcgregor is good. The special effects of the prequels are also way, way better, though I understand I'm comparing them to effects from the 70's so it's moot.

edit: Oh, and Natalie Portman.

It's refreshing to hear someone who doesn't despise the prequels.

However, imo, ep 1 was the worst, 2 and 3 improved, but 4, 5, and 6 are still the best by far.

Of course, the lightsaber battle choreography was non-existent in the original trilogy, but that is also a moot point, as ep. 3 had the best choreography in film ever, short of a Jet Li movie or something, and now that the standard has been set, every other battle has to be at least as good.

Not really, they have branched out into more mature film making in the past decade. It's not all Snow White and Cinderella anymore.
