I ran 8 years of track in high school/college that just ended, then took a couple months off and I'm now doing occasional workouts and long runs. By far the hardest part though is
It's so much harder to get motivated now without competition as incentive.
That's exactly why i time and record all my workouts. About every 3 months I repeat a "benchmark" workout and measure my results. Its good fun.
In the process of training for my first marathon. Logging about 35 miles a week currently. Marathon i'm training for is in August, so I'm just getting a solid base set before I begin specific training around the 18 Week mark.
