How does your E30 fit you?

Some of you need to stop lieing about weight ;) but other then that i sometimes dislike my pedals. They are either to close or to far.

about the sport seats adjusting: almost took my fingers off.
it was 5am. i was at a long red light and i thought i was sitting a little high.
so i pushed the lever down and 4 of my fingers got caught under the seat with all my weight on it. i was freaking out dawg.
so i grabbed my wheel and held my weight off the seat, still stuck.
i contemplated my next step: open door with right hand and crush fingers or stand there uncomfortably forever.
so i crushed my fingers, opened the door, got tf out bro, drove home.

5’11” / ~170 / “tall torso” / sport seats

My desired position description best fits a “knees up/laid back/Italian” style. This position is the most “fun/relaxing” for me.



Seat settings:
- All the way forward *
- Height at lowest/most rocked back
- Moderate recline

* I seem to note that my passenger seat will go forward one more inch or setting position than my drivers seat. Like when I obsessively "match" seat settings, my drivers side is all forward - and passenger seat is one notch back from full-forward.

I wish I could move my drivers seat forward one more notch or setting. If I could move the drivers seat forward one more setting, then I would space up the front of the seat ~1/2-3/4”.

I wish the steering wheel was 1-2 inches closer to my chest.

I wish the steering column was angled down ~1/4-1/2 inch.

Arguably, while the above wishes would make for a better cockpit feel, they would also make entry/exit more challenging.


Even considering aforementioned nit-picks, the car fits me like a well-tailored suit.

I'm way more comfy in the E30 than our family car, a Subaru wagon. I've got tons of leg room and the seats fit me well.

The subaru is OK for short trips, but the steering wheel is way off center of the seat, which makes the seat feel very awkward and uncomfortable no matter what I do. also the legroom sucks, and my knee gets smashed into the stupid key (why do japanese manufacturers put the keys right where a guy's knee would go?). after about more than 1 hour in that car and I start to hurt everywhere. Kind of unbelievable considering it's like 4 feet longer than the E30..

the E30 can be teeth rattling over long journeys but the seating position itself is pretty comfy.

6'4" and 180 lbs. It's not incredibly comfortable, but I don't worry about that considering I'm the only one who drives it. I have my E46 if I feel the need for comfort.

Little dude checking in, 5" 2", 145 lbs.

e30 sport seats are sooo slim and perfect, they're also the only car seats I've ever had where the head rest is usable. I'm usually too short in most cars.

The clutch pedal travel is fine, with the seat about an inch back from all the way forward and and the seat bottom tilted almost all the way up, where I like it, but I don't have the best forward view, and I can't reach the dead pedal so I never know what to do with my left foot.

Still, the seats are so comfortable, the steering wheel is right in my chest, and all the controls fall right to hand. The pedal box is perfect, and the view out of the entire greenhouse in almost unhindered. I'm far more comfortable in my e30 than in my e46 when I had it, and I would go as far as to say that it's one of the most short people friendly enthusiast cars I've driven, many of which I can't see out of to drive (S2000, Elise, I could go on...).

Sure, being short sucks, but at least I'm not crammed into my car like so many others. Honestly, if you're over six foot and you rock an e30, my hat is off to you. e30s are fucking teeny tiny inside.

6' 235lbs. I have recaro trophys which are a little wider then sport seats. I also made the brackets sit a little lower. Fits me just fine.

Same seats I have, I am 6'6'' 245lbs and fit perfect, I have a 46" chest so these seats are amazing for me! I did remove the headliner and skim everything flat on the roof metal. Now my helmet clears. Most of my height is in my torso as I have a 33" inseam.

Before with sport seats my head hit all the time, I could not fit with comfort seats unless I had my seat leaned back.

Took my back seat out to remove the notion for people sitting in the back.

I have that Sasquash type build, unlike BLUNT.
I just move my schlong to the passenger seat, so it's not too constricted while I'm sitting in racecar driver mode.

Seat is at the lowest setting about a third of the way back, reclined just enough to not look like a douchy gehtto Cholo.
Seats are comfortable, even if I got my kids as passangers in my 2 door.(my 7yr old sits behind me)

Fits great.

I need to play with my seats some more based on everyones comments I'm 6' 3" 190lbs (Longs legs)

My left leg is the main problem for me with hard left turns. The other problem is that my seats don't function so great. particularly the recline. If the front of the seat was height adjustable, had a slightly smaller dia. steering wheel that had tilt and telescoping I could get the perfect position.

I fit perfectly with the seat all the way forward, i'm 5'8 130 lbs. No other car fits me as well as an e30
