I do believe he said 14k, not 30k for the wrangler, nor 20k for a Unimog, plus add 3k for shipping it from europe.

I agree, but I think op would be better off in a 100 series Land Cruiser. Pretty much perfect in every way he would ever need.

Anyone suggesting a Land Rover needs to seriously take into consideration what they just said... Lol.

I agree. Im hoping my RRC can make it through winter w/out a problem. Next year i'll try to move into a Tahoe or something similar.

4.0HO XJ all day, that is, if you really want to 'go anywhere'.

If your photoshoots require a trip down a weak trail that is mostly compacted dirt with the occassional rut, then any of the vehicles listed will complete the task.

But, if you have to cross some atrocious terrain to get to where you want, most of the vehicles listed here will fail you. A solid front axle is the way to go, none of this independent front end wishbone shit.

There aint nothing quite like a Jeep.

                          What about an LX450/470?

Always started problem was it enjoyed overheating in Los Angeles Trafic but one you got it out of LA it was fine ran like clock work everywhere Else also had one of the most comfortable interiors I've even been in
But since OP is moving to Alaska overheating in heavy summer traffic shouldn't be a problem

I'm hoping my disco 1 will serve me well. Land rover really isn't a vehicle one can recommend to someone, lol.
