Ok, so I have gone off the deep end... hop ups in the mail for the tl-01 chassis:
One way ball bearing diff, carbon shafts, aluminum prop shaft, adjustable turnbuckles, new monocoque, lipo pack/charger, lipo battery alarm, ezrun 13t motor/esc combo, sway bar set, lightweight suspension shaft set, lightweight bumper, and 2 sets of wheels/tires; drift and on-road. I was unable to locate the original long arm set, carbon prop shaft, or lightweight chassis, or I would have got those too. Instead I will probably lighten the new monocoque by taking a dremel to it. Something like this, but probably not quite this far:
Basically, I just threw every tamiya hop up that is still available that wasn't already installed at the now discontinued chassis. It should be a blast once it all gets assembled.Last edited by Andy.B; 10-07-2013, 06:29 AM.Comment

Selling my TSR Nitro 6. If any or you are into nitro you will want this and I'd be willing to bet it's the only one you will find for sale.
This is an amazing truck and very rare. Nitro powered RC Semi with 6x6 6 wheel drive. This started life as a Team Associated Monster GT and then Truck Stop Racing converted it to a 6x6 semi. You can read a review on it with pictures here - http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=656
This truck is complete and ready to run. Just had the motor checked out and new fuel lines put on. The body has never been painted or mounted and still has the protective wrapping. Comes with a Team Associated 3-channel 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver. The only thing you need is fuel and a battery pack for the truck.
Picture shows my Traxxas Slash next to it for size comparison. This thing is a monster and as big as my 1/5th scale HPI Baja Truck. Put a trailer behind it and tow your Losi, Traxxas, HPI, or Axial or other RC truck.
Looking for $500 or best offer. Willing to trade for a few things like a kids dirtbike, maybe other RC stuff like a Revo or Summit.

I ordered the m3 body as well, for my tl01. The body should arrive tomorrow. I got the car running with lipo and a 13t ezrun brushless setup and ran it for a few minutes between downpours the last few days, and all I can say is holy crap that thing is fast!Comment

I mine from tower hobbies, but amazon has a better price right now.Comment

Tower Hobbies carries an expansive collection of RC cars, RC airplanes, RC boats, model trains, sot cars, and supplies for all hobbyists.
but then mine is set up for rallying. Pretty good all around traction unless it is muddy, and they break away more progressively than slicks for easy tail-out hoonage.Comment

Got my tamiya 190mm e30 m3 body painted and mostly assembled. Mounted on a tl-01 with a 13t brushless, and lots of aluminum/carbon upgrades. I need to get a set of hpi tires and new wheels that match the body a little better.
For a cheap chassis, it is insanely fast, durable, and a blast to bash around.

After fixing everything on my T-Maxx, I decided to sell it, as well as a barely used TLT-1 I had kicking around. They are currently both listed on Ebay. My plan is to use the funds to buy a short course truck that I can race at a local indoor dirt track. I am hoping to raise enough from the auctions to fund the build. I giving myself a max budget of $400, but would like to stay below $350 if possible.
Back when I first was into RC, I raced an original Traxxas Rustler (back when they came in kit form) on a carpet oval in the 'modified' class. It was a fun truck, but when I began to spend more time bashing rather than racing, I picked up a Stampede (also a kit) and ended up using parts from the Rustler to fix the Stampede as things broke. Some time down the line I sold the whole package and bought the T-Maxx. Now here I am, over a decade later, wishing I still had that Rustler to convert to a lcg slash short course truck!
I have been reading up my choices for a SCT, and am planning on sticking to a 2wd. I am trying to decide between:
1- a used rustler and convert to an SCT with an lcg kit
2- a slash converted with an lcg kit
3- sc10 rtr + a few upgrades (I hear the stock motor/esc combo and tires are terrible)
4- sc10 kit
I have a radio/receiver, spare servo, and lipo charger. If I buy a kit instead of an rtr I would need a motor, esc, and battery. I plan on going brushless and lipo.
Anybody here have any experience with short course trucks? Any thoughts on kit vs rtr, when trying to stay on a budget.Comment
