So how do you like this after having a few months? I might get minions one for Christmas gift.My Axial AX10. First pic is of the interior I made out of styrene with brass rollbar (2010). Second pic was when I had Proline Moab tires on it. Third is with Proline Super Swamper SX's because I wanted a larger tire. Has a Tekin FX w/ 55turn and running 7cell Nimh (2011) I've added a RC4WD Trail Stomper and an Axial SCX10 Rubicon to my recent collection, its nice to be out of the service now so I can enjoy them more and update their electronics.Comment

Hey, thinking about getting an R/C car again. I had one of the Revo's a while back but since it was gas and I didn't know what I was doing it was never running.
I want something electric I can run on dirt, or throw a set of road tires on and run on the road. I did some looking and I was thinking a short course truck might fit the bill. Specifically I was looking at the Losi xxx-sct brushless. It's a little more money than I'd like to spend ideally, but I also would rather spend a little bit more and end up with something that I will enjoy more and not have to modify as much.
Any opinions? Anything else I should look at? Also, my co-worker just got a Traxxas Rustler and I wouldn't mind it if my car was faster than his.:psigpicComment

Get a Traxxas Slash 4x4. Grab a used one off Craigslist. Losi is built a lititle better but Slash is cheaper and you can get parts anywhere. It's nice when you break it knowing you can go grab parts at any shop.

I'll definitely look into that. That being said, according to Losi's website there are 2 or 3 dealers within a short drive of me. If the Losi is better built and there are ample nearby dealers would you still suggest going with the Slash?sigpicComment

If you want to bash go slash if you want to race go Losi. Fwiw I love my slash, it's a blast. I do take it to the track to play but don't get involved in points racing or anything like that.
I just went to order replacement tekno axles for my protrac slash 4x4 and they no longer make them. Looks like I'll have to go mip now or something. Maybe xo1 axles are long enough...Comment

Is your buddies rustler a brushless version? If not get a rustler VXL with a Lipo 2s 5000mah battery and some road tires and your fly. Make sure you buy a wheelie bar if you do that set up you'll destroy the body. Ask me how I know. This was my old setup before I traded for the current one.Comment
