I've been meaning to add "protection" to the site. Here is an excerpt from our ebay ad:

Cool. If that is the same case I am thinking of there are some pretty crazy videos of that thing being tested: 10 Story drops, Lifted trucks doing burnouts on them, etc. Phone survived every time (or so at appeared to anyway).

We definitely didn't design our case to make your phone indestructible, I'll admit that. Its there to reduce the risk of damage with normal types of drops. We tested an iPhone 4 as such with no issues. And since then I have personally and without purpose dropped my 5 at the bar and at home on hardwood floors several times without any damage or scratches to my phone.

But we got into the case game b/c frankly we hated everything in the $40 price range. Some companies had the right idea, but they executed it very poorly in my opinion. In fact we were initially only planning on making just a few cases for ourselves. But they ended up being such conversation starters, that we decided to make them available for purchase.

After speaking to retailers that are interested in carrying our case, it appears that a good bit of the market considers Speck Cases to be high end. Could have fooled me, but then again I have no interest in cheap rubber cases with clips and such. Anyway, we decided to undercut them to make the decision that much more obvious.

On another note. We got some of our limited edition finishes done, and will have those up on the site shortly. You can expect finishes like polished brass, antique brass, statue bronze, black chrome, and nickel.
