I dislike the "Its America? It sucks" This is your home respect it. Iam a desert storm vet and I just didnt like that. When people write negs about what this country produces, people around the world read it and our rep become more of a joke to them.
Holy hell there is a lot of hate here.
Yeah, there are design elements that are obviously sampled from Italian supercars. Since when is mimicking Ferrari a bad thing? Even still, look at the front of a C6. The C7 seems like a perfectly logical evolution attempting to perfect the aero.
It's too different from the current gen? It sucks.
It's too similar to the current gen? It sucks.
It's American? It sucks.
It's Italian inspired? It sucks.
It uses a manual transmission that ONE other car in the world still uses? It sucks.
Listen to you people. You can't appreciate the next in a lineage of best bang for your buck sports/super car on the market?

I don't think you realize why they mention all that tech. GM isn't a high end car manufacturer. Now all those 'High end technologies' are mass produced and going to be seen in every town in America. They're not saying GM came up with them, just that it's been designed and adapted for this chassis. Marketing is there to sensationalize everything about the car.84 325e - 91 325i - 92 318 touring - 91 Trans Am - 01 S4 avant - 03 S-type R - 96 F350 - 15 SS - 84 Biturbo - 91 Defender

It comes in a box? Like a hot-wheels box? That's dope!
I wasn't talking about flush, just that 2-3in gap ALL the friggen way around the wheel. It looks sooo bad. You'd drop the car and it would still look bad unless you went up in wheel diameter 2-3in.

Just put an American of average weight in it and you'll fix the height issue :o

^You still missed the point, despite the joke.

I would say keep the wheel diameter, go wider, and then add some thicker/wider tires.

Just because this is our home, we are not required to blindly praise whatever quality/junk it produces. You defended our freedom, as in freedom to question and judge based on personal opinion. It's as close to fact as anything that American cars seem to be handicapped when compared with European and Japanese counterparts. Deal with it.I dislike the "Its America? The steering wheel is terribly ugly, I can't judge the red interior because it's obnoxious. IMO the car has become too much of a hodge-podge of popular exotic car style. I don't mind the side and rear actually, but the front is just too obvious to the point of being "meh".
Some have said that this is the "base" model... why is it being launched as the "Sting Ray"? I honestly don't know enough about Corvettes but I thought that the Sting Ray was a specialty model.Comment

Look, if there wasn't a thing called CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, nothing would ever be made better. My opinion of the steering wheel in a Corvette isn't going to make someone in Finland judge the whole of America as lesser...just Chevy.

Ah you didn't mention going with a higher profile tire, or changing diameter.
I just see this ridiculously ugly trend on MANY cars to have a wheel well that is 2-5in too large, and it turns me off to the car completely.
In a way it's like my E30. I have filled that well as much as possible, and it looks good, but the problem with the E30 is now my car is fairly high, I can't go lower unless I get smaller diameter wheels/tires.
With the C7, the height of the wheel well allows a nice drop, but the well is still too open/large front to rear of the wheels.
I'll step off of my soapbox.
To the comments regarding the engine earlier on. I personally think the Vette Engines since the C4 days are damn amazing. Good economy, great torque all around, easy to work on, and are far more reliable than the high strung euro engines. Just my two pence. If you want to argue, go ahead. I am not looking to change someones opinion, just voicing mine.

I know what you mean, after looking at the arches on the C7, they're way too circular and would look like poop if you lowered it because then the wheel and fender wouldn't be concentric...

I'd like to see these facts, as it is all cars are just machines that have problems, Made in USA/Japan/Germany/England and so on...Just because this is our home, we are not required to blindly praise whatever quality/junk it produces. I kind of know where the guy is coming from, being that i've been working in factorys since i got out of high school. I'm part of the American workforce and see comments that we make junk. It's like thanks a lot buddy. Glad i could be part of something that you're blind to! I'm pretty proud of my work, but on the other hand i do see crap get sent out the door by the company. And it's like really.... I thought we was serving the consumer with a good product. But yet you let this slide. It's nothing life threating, but quality of a part that would look bad over time. To where if it was done correctly in the first place and quality control didn't say to pass it. It would be an excellent, and will hold up to time.
