ZOMG WTF0RZ?! Heeter, you're SO RIGHT!!!

Just like all those gayfagbagwaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles arsetronaut teens back in the 50s in their flathead-powered '32 Hiboys and Deuces lining up at traffic lights and in mountain passes in America, eh?

Thanks to their pioneering efforts endangering the public, mashing the gas and holding the fuck on for 400m became America's national past time...

you skipped over the important part

The term "Touge" refers to the mountain passes of Japan. While racing down these narrow, winding roads cars began to lose traction and began sliding through corners. Eventually, drivers would control their slide and try to keep it sideways as long as possible and the sport of drifting was soon born in the land of the rising sun.
thats the key to what makes drifting so popular. it takes a lot of car control skill to do it right.

The only drifting I find worthwhile is rally racing....something where drifting makes for the faster way around a corner...not the slower.

            Right on.

Anybody ever watch the Drift Bible? Or watch any professional drifting videos? If you have, then you know they are in fact going quite fast and that it requires remarkable control to not crash as well as make it look good by being smooth. So why disrespect?

I think drag racing is a more worthless autosport. Certainly not as entertaining to watch anyway.

Amen. Rally slides are the shit.

Where did you get that sticker on your back windshield? I wants one.

OMG! Drifting is so gay! I'm high and mighty and if I can't do it its SOOOOOO STUPID!!!!! Japanese cars are POS!

Touge battles are actually interesting... I'll watch some import video before I watch some laps from runoffs or something.

What does that have to do with all the douchebag kiddies that do powerslides & burnouts in parking lots?

That seems to be what everyone on here that calls themselves "drifters" does.

The best part of drifting videos is when they hit things.

some fucktards in my apartment complex think they can drift their FWD Acuras really well. Its annoying as fuck, and I had to park my car on the other side of a burm because some jackass over slid and tapped another car next to mine. Fucking morons, they also like to e-brake it a lot at school. re-tar-ded.

Yes you could say there are retarded people who mash it from stoplight to stoplight, but in a professional sense: Dragracing > drifting.

I would much rather watch a sport in which the faster car, better built motor, better reaction times, where consistancy is important, than watch a sport that started from a bunch of idiots who COULDNT drive or control their cars.

I hate drifting, i wish it would go away.

one is a NASA TT'ier and instructor, so he can do what he wants in the spare time, including practicing at Auto-Xes. the other has grown smarter than to reek havoc on the streets

if my friends are morons and clutch kicking on the street, i'll clown on them. if they street race, i'll clown on them. that shit is downright retarded.

with dragracing, auto-x, and track - you are at least in a closed, controlled environment

drifting on the street and street racing is not only gay and stupid, but now growing more popular. it's funny but sad that drifting started by people driving recklessly and making a sport out of it

the actually talented drivers and participating on a racecourse, fine. they're not being a fucking menace to society.

most "drifters" are nothing but idiot kids in 240s with lot of understeer dialed in and then powering over their cars with their ka24dets or sr20dets or whatever.
