    Jeepy Question

So...my sister has a 98' laredo and for some reason the rear hatch doesn't lock anymore. All the other doors are locking but the rear won't!?!? Anyone know what to look for?

naturally... but in all honestly these things really do fall the fuck apart... 3 of my best friends have all owned jeeps, and all three have been sold or otherwise due to stupid stuff fucking up and costing a ton of money to diagnose

thats cause you dont fix a jeep like that... Its a fucking POS jeep, ductape or bungee cord and be done with it.

This thread scares me because I was thinking of a Cherokee. Is it always just simple crap like this that can be rigged in a pinch or does the transmission just fall out randomly?

I know, I should not have sold mine. The only downside was (at least on the older ones) bare metal would rust through in about 15 minutes.

buddy of mine had a grand cherokee in about 93 or 94 and the thing was one month old when the rear hatch failed, opened the hatch up and there was a sheet metal screw that was right in the wiring harness and had over vibration cut the wire. I'd pop the trim and get out the multimeter.

Don't really have any advice on fixing it, but the same happened to my wife's last jeep cherokee (2000). The latch worked fine, it just wouldn't lock. She loves jeeps though and now has an '04 cherokee. everything still works as of now (knocking on wood)
