I see your sense of humor is lacking. And I wouldn't say that calling bikes in general, and especially a liter sportsbike dangerous is 'ignorant'. Even (especially?) experienced riders see the dangers.

Back on topic-nice bike. When I have the spare money I'd like to get myself a 250 to have some fun on.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

One's sense of humor tends to be worn thin by the eleventy billionith you hear a non rider say this.

Motocycles are pretty much as safe as you decide to make them via riding style, etc. This is coming from 20+ years street riding under my belt.

I hope Inu Faye has fun safely tucked under the covers of his bed where nothing can hurt him.

This is technically true - as they're pretty safe when garaged. Other than that they are dangerous. I've worked in 2 level one trauma centers and have seen the outcomes of 100s of MCCs - it's never pretty and often tragic.

I sure hope the 20+ years of riding saves you when a SUV smashes into you.

You can't protect yourself from other people.

I've lost 3 family members to motorcyles, and none of them were because they did something stupid with a bike.

I have a cousin who is in a wheel chair pretty much Stephen Hawking style 'cause an SUV didn't see him stopped at a stop sign.

They're dangerous, but people enjoy them. I for one would like to get one, but don't want something to happen to where I'm blowing little puffs of air to move my chair around.

Jeans are fine to ride in! As long as they are the heavyweight style like Levi's or Lee Brand Jeans, etc. Went down at 70 mph and slid more than the length of a football field on the highway. Got up and the jeans took some wear on the ass portion . but never broke through the weave of the jeans. Anthony Marc 500 dollar leather designer jacket up ,top took some abrasion but never burned through the leather.

My buddy that was riding "bitch" and caused the crash was not as lucky as he was wearing Khaki's. Nice bit of road rash on his ass which kinda served him right under the circumstances. Both of us wwalked away (he kinda limped a little -ankle twist) but for wearing no helmet at the time (before helmet law) I consider this an awesome outcome!

                    OP - Nice Gixxer!

Seems my sense of humor is NOT lacking, thank you very much.

It is ignorant for a person to make such a comment about inferring they will be physically harmed or die from riding a motorcycle.

Even (especially?) experienced riders see the dangers.
Thats right. I have been riding for 45 years and understand the dangers of having less protection around you, and that I am one two wheels. That still does not justify such a condescending comment.

Sure it does, I'm not risking life and limb for choosing to ride a motorcycle.

They aren't safe, end of story.

Yes you can...its called defensive riding, always having a plan, and not putting yourself in a situation you have no "out" for. Looking ahead, being prepared, and having the right equipment is a must as well.

I've lost 3 family members to motorcyles, and none of them were because they did something stupid with a bike.
They may not have been doing anything stupid, but that doesnt mean they could have done something to alleviate the danger.

I'm sure they could have done so much more to get away from the danger.

I mean obviously if you were wearing flashing clothing she would have stopped texting her friend and slammed on the brakes in time!
