I have worked at restaurants since I was 15; 20 now.
First restaurant was family owned (I was family hehe), however the hired help were ALWAYS tipped out accordingly.
Second restaurant I worked at, they didn't tip me out my first night and you can bet your last dollar I made it clear that pulling that shit didn't fly with me.
Current restaurant I work at has always made it a responsibility to get my tips to me.

I say you walk out the door and find another job that treats you right.
you worked for those tips ffs and I can relate to how you must feel.
hell, I pretty much rely solely on my tips because I can't survive off shit min. wage.

Yeah, thanks for the insight. After reading everyone's responses I think I'm going to speak up, I'll refuse to do any work that directly helps them with their tip making until they decide to be fair.

Or do what any seasoned waiter does... stop doing their work for them and expecting them to tip you for it when you haven't manned up and said anything. And just focus on other tasks. In a Restaurant there's plenty for you to get distracted doing. Hell, I used to fart next to the tables where the waitresses didn't split some tippage if I was watching their shit or taking care of them.
