crappy cell pic but you get the idea, that was Feb. 7th to March 7th. She started in Jan. at 23% bf and as of yesterday is down to 13% on the nose. Trainer is hoping to have her in singles by May 17th. (Show date).

Start low on the weight. You will ramp extremely fast since you've been strength training for so long. Ditch the powerlifting stuff. You do similiar things in olympic accessory lifts but it has a specific purpose. Less reps too. So working out doesnt feel so "hard". Its more of a mind game. I should probably find a routine of some sort where I can train all the power lifts and the oly variants. I think it's called the super total or something like that. Cleans and snatches are just way too fun for me not to do them.Leave a comment:

Squat - 405 - trying to hit 455 after this smolov cycle
Bench - 300 paused
DL - 500
OHP - 195, finally
And here's a C&J video of me doing an ugly 100kg. Keep in mind I do not train oly at all. I was just dicking around to see what I can do.

My best snatch his now at 80kg
Best clean and jerk is at 85kg
Best clean is at 100kg
I've also switched from split jerk to squat jerk so I'm behind schedule again in PR's. Something about split jerking just doesnt work for me. I cant get the bar behind my head far enough and i end up with shoulder pain no matter what. Squat jerk feels more natural but requires more strength. So basically i do a ton of leap frog squats, sotts press, push press, military press, etc to build shoulder strength. Thats my main concern now.

Still pounding away as well. Been doing a weird variation of Oly and body building type lifts, mainly due to the fact that I like to lift heavy but the wife is body building now. She's 6 weeks out from her first show, She'll be in the figure class. She was training for Physique but didn't feel like she had enough time to get her body to the point of being competitive......that being said I'm confident she'll blow the competition out of the water in Figure.

I sure am. I've since joined an oly only club and have been working with a former Olympian as my coach. Put on about 9-10lbs of muscle and cut a couple BFI %'s. Feelin good feelin great!
Oh, and I'm almost through day 4 of not smoking any longer.

it is boring, you spend 70% or your workout in the same rack haha. I did that program for 4 months straight, started with a 165OHP I believe and hit 205 before my wedding......then I went on honeymoon and the gym life went to crap.....and frankly has stayed crap. That's changing starting this week. I hit the gym every day mon-thursday. first time I've done that since probably the first of the year.Leave a comment:

I can't even imagine having a 205 strict ohp. I failed on my last 185 attempt. Then again, it is one of the slowest gaining lifts.
Boring But Big might be the some of the best assistance work out there for OHP bc of the volume. Hmm, I may experiment with that.Leave a comment:

I really like that. Last time I did it I did the big10 assistance. where you did the main lift, then like 40% of that weight for 5 more sets of 10. it's was pretty brutal but I put on a lot of size, especially in my shoulders. I worked up to a 205lbs. strict OHP, was pretty happy about that. I probably couldn;t do 185 right now......Leave a comment:
