it really depends on your body type too. I have long arms and legs and a short torso.....I'm VERY lean on my arms and legs, neck etc.....but hold most of my fat around my mid section. Guys like me it sucks loosing that fat. I really focus on shoulders and back, and super-set core workouts between every set I do. It's slowly going away.....but honestly until I true change my diet up its not going anywhere.......and I like to eat.

Yeah, more or less, I believe. I do it once a week or so, but the guys I know who are serious about it got lean pretty quickly.

Is that similar to HIIT? I was just speaking with a friend who started doing that and has seen results.

I'm stuck between this thread and the weightloss thread. I'm trying to reduce some pretty stubborn fat on my hips but also build lean muscle in my upper body. My chest and legs are probably the most muscular looking parts of my body, really trying to work on my arms while still working my core and legs.

Tried some concentration curls last night, as simple as they are they felt weird with my left arm, not sure if I'm doing them right. My left is still noticeably weaker than my right.

I've known a guy for a couple months now that has done Oly style lifting for almost 12 year all the way up through college. He's joining my gym and over conversation last night said he'd start training me. I'm super stoked because its something I've really wanted to learn, but I know technique is so critical never have really taken steps to do it.

I'll start updating as we go!

If you are just getting back into it I definitely recommend all-pro beginner routine. It doesnt take a lot of time to do, and its got a deload built in so your risk of injury goes down and you get the proper recovery. It will also allow you to build the strength you need to start lifting heavy

nothing has changed, it's the same shit as 6 years ago. it's a weight (force) and you move it which then you are doing work. W=F*d

anyone have any routine recommendations for a "beginner"? I say beginner because I haven't jumped into a serious lifting routine in like 6 years...and I know a lot of shit has changed.

I'm pretty much interested in gaining a little bit of mass, but basically just looking for definition. I definitely need to incorporate cardio as I'm planning on a couple 5k road races and want to be in shape enough to do a tough mudder this summer.

I currently take a multi-vitamin and just bought some creatine.

I'm working on my diet, which is gonna be harder than any lifting routine based on my past diet.
