Good luck buddy....I'll never understand Cali's car laws.

That is because you are ignorant and a hillbilly. You can't park a car with dead tags on a public road in Virginya, either.

doesnt help for OP, but in the city of richmond you have to have either current registration OR inspection if the vehicle isnt in a locke building. Otherwise they can tow it, and car covers dont help. I hadmy buick towed off my property while i was in CA on vacation and had to pay the fine, impound fees, AND two fees.

I really hate that place. So glad to live in the Valley where I can do what I want and can have the space to keep my untagged cars on my private property thus not getting towed/tickets/bullshit.

whoa, that's a load of bull. towed off private property? That's hard to believe. In my drive is a car which doesn't run and has not been insured or registered for a few years. Why pay that if it doesn't even drive? Until I get around to working on it it's safe on my own property. There's got to be more to this story
Was some HOA getting up your ass or something?

in ohio the car must be legally registered if parked on the street or anywhere in public or you'll get the same registration ticket or worse. They wouldn't have any way to know if it runs or not.. but a lot of local cities have laws about a car being parked on the street without moving for more than 24 hours.

                    Troof, that's gonna be nice.

Been to R-mond, got a ticket, got the t-shirt, hate the place.

I try not to go near that, meh, city is too nice a word for it, place. I prefer Charlottesville. Roads are actually alright in C'ville too.

Meh, I feel like slammin and I have a nice love/hate thing going on.

I do find it amusing that slammin thinks the whole country should be run like an unpopulated farm town.
