Hell I had a CHP motor officer follow me from Morgan Hill to San Jose one night on the 101 and I had my then stock 76 2002's gas pedal at the floor the entire time ( about a buck five ). Gave em a wave when I got off the freeway, he waved back.

Nobody messes with em. Plain and simple. I used drive a lot on, and just before what's called Mount Up Aka shift change you will see inbound state police commonly traveling we over the posted limit.

It happens. Not often someone screws with state troopers.

I see it all the time in Maryland. Most of the time it's cause one lives up here in Western MD and works in Baltimore. When i worked in Hagerstown , just about every moring i get passed by one or two going 90mph+.

so i did a little research. basically it looks like if an emergency vehicle is not responding to a call and is speeding no lights thats as bad as you and i speeding (in NY) so you can fuck with the cops but you gotta guess if they're responding or not. But if its unreasonable speeds or reckless endangerment then the cop is not really covered by the law. But "unreasonable" is a bit subjective you know, as many cop involving laws are

I'm just happy they're going right past me. Better than pulling me over.

What really gets me is when they're talking on the phone and driving. That's just dangerous no matter who it is. And it's illegal here in MD.

I didn't say cut them off. If the speed limit is 65 and they are going 100+ even a normal lane change they would struggle to miss you. If they didn't have their lights on they are in big trouble. Cops are not above the law and should be treated as such, they just enforce. Just make sure you have a camera rolling somewhere.

If traffic was heavy and people wouldn't get out of the way then they would kick them on.
this also before you change lanes you have to make sure it's safe so even if they smashed into you, it would have been your fault because they are cops and just say "I just started speeding up to go to a call."
