I couldn't either.
Then I had raw milk. It was an amazing difference. I can do raw cow/goat all day long, but one glass of the store bought stuff, and I'm in the bathroom for hours, doubled over in discomfort.Comment

I dont buy organic milk.
I buy the cheapest store brand milk I can find. I'm not about to spend >5$ a day on milk. ( I drink a lot of milk to supplement my diet, b/c i work 10 hour shifts with no breaks. )
I'd rather save some money for hookers and blow.Comment

what are you? some sort of government patsy? you are entitled to your opinion but you are completely wrong. the story is actually about money more than anything. it is an absolute fact that many of our government leaders (senators, legislators, and justices) are also members of the board of several large companies. companies such as monsanto for example. they make laws that benefit the the bottom line of the companies they work for. policies that are not in the public interest in any way. if you truly believe otherwise, you smoke crack.
it is common knowlege that gmo's, corn products, etc, are bad for the public health. it is the fda that allows this nonsense to go on each and every day. i have news for you: the fda is a branch of the us government. there is too much money involved to change this.
do grass fed/organic products cost more? you bet they do. there are a lot of people out there that are too cheap or can't afford to buy grass fed beef or other organic products. i get that. however, what the government allows companies to put in are food is truly a travesty. you need to open up your eyes.sigpic

1) I am in Canada where growth hormones and the such is BANNED in the dairy industry, so the government made the right call there, hence why i'm not thinking they are terrible.
2) Yes its all about money, and there will always be people lobbying for their own interests in every aspect of anything, thats just how it works.
The problem is the consumer is OK with whats happening in the industry, you might not be, but the majority is, and they dictate the direction. People want their gallon of milk for cheap, or their plate of beef for <$10, and the ONLY way for a business to be profitable at that level is to pump animals full of hormones or raise them in giant cattle farms where they can barely move. When people change their behaviors to only buy the "natural" products and except the fact they cannot afford to have meat with every meal, or in the ridiculous quantities they have now, producers will obviously shift to meet that need. The issue is people don't want to pay more and have less, hence the methods you see now. The politicians are just allowing what people are accepting.
Thats MY opinion. I don't disagree with yours but I think you are missing a big aspect of the problem.Comment

I agree with that as well. The consumer should be educated and vote with their dollars.
I went and got the wife and I some fast food for this time in probably six months a few weeks ago because we were hungover.
I was SHOCKED at how expensive it is. You can cook tasty, high-quality meals at home for less, but we wouldn't want to take anytime away from American Idol or generally just sucking at life.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com
