i did the math for the blades I buy, only saving .87 a blade for a 16 pack. Only going to save about $15 a year probably, but I have to wait for them in the mail :(.
Anyone hear of dollar shave club? You just pay monthly and they send you blades so you don't have to rememeber to order them.

Mach3 blades lasts for months with me but I only shave 1 or 2 times week.

let us know how it goes but 5 blades seams waffleswaffleswaffleswafflesing overkill. I just use mach 3's all day. I shave in the morning and have scruff by noon so it doesn't matter how many blades I have it just grows back no matter what

I have always wanted to do the straight razor thing, but not when I am half awake in the morning haha.

Try a safety razor. You get a straight razor quality shave without all the hassles.

Huge +1 to dressing in suits and not letting a job dictate that. At my job it's rather casual however I still wear suits sans tie weekly because that's my style preference :rofl:

All of this. Working 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week, then working on the car/house/whatever doesn't allow a lot of time to dress nicely. I'm almost always in clothes I'm not worried too much about ruining.

I agree, I dress casual during the week because of my job and hobbies. Weekends or going out I am just enjoying life with suits, blazers/jeans. It is an escape? not really since I LOVE my job :)

Disposable razors are generally crap. The blade geometry is never right and the blade(s) are never sharp enough. Do yourself a huge favor and pick up a "safety razor." Not as difficult/dangerous to use as a straight razor, but with just as good results. Smoothest and most comfortable shave you'll ever get.

Safety razor blades are dirt cheap. Like $13 for 100 Astra Superior razor blades (20 five-packs). Each blade lasts me about 4-5 shaves before it starts to drag. As soon as it stops cutting like a laser, it's time to swap in a new one.

I have had a cut throat shave before and I agree that it is one hell of a clean shave. My problem with what you posted is that my hair on my neck goes around in a swirling pattern. So cutting against the grain is a no go for me. I NEVER clean shave my face, just my neck. So these will do the job.

My wife bought me a merkur razor and I love it. While the razor itself was 70 bucks, refills are dirt cheap because it uses a single edge blade. I get incredibly close shaves and it costs me about 10 bucks for 3 months of blades. Highly recommend it to you guys.
