How do you all feel about skeleton watches? My fiancé wants to buy me this as a wedding gift to go with my wedding band.

Hamilton is the leading brand for automatic watches. The Hamilton watches combine the American Spirit with the Swiss precision and latest technologies.

I will be test fitting one this weekend to get a better feel.

I'm also going to check out these 3 which I think are more up my ally.

The last one, there is a 42 mm version I'm interested in as well

not a fan of skeleton watches I would be looking at the something form the jazz master collection as dress/every day watch if your dead set on a Hamilton. Especially the Chrono, the GMT or the seaview

Hamilton Khaki is a great watch for the price, I had one and sold it last year, kind of wish I hadn't

I opted to get this instead

Hamilton H70455863 38mm khaki field auto - its the version without the red tip second hand and has swiss made listed at 6 o'clock.

I am pretty pumped about it. It's simple, which is right up my ally. I looked at so many other watch choices. Many of which are 'nicer' or 'fancier' but I kept coming back to this model during my search.

have you looked at one in person yet. 38mm is touch on the small side for a "modern" watch though I am fairly sure nearly identical models are available in 40 42 and 44mm.

I didn't see this exact model in stores, but I did see a different 38mm khaki field stores. I have a 7 inch wrist. To me, its close to being too small. I think 40 would be the perfect size. Though, I think this 38mm actually wears bigger based on the lugs. I tried a 42mm hamilton model, and it worked, but it was close to being to large. I tried 44mm similar hamilton and it felt way to big.
I tried a 43mm breitling which felt good, but it was very thick... not to mention about $6000 outside my budget. Its hard to really describe, but based on the watch itself the different sizes were not always the same. The 42 hamilton felt as big as the 43 brietling, and the 44 hamilton felt way bigger than the 43 breitling.

They don't sell this exact style in any other sizes. Otherwise i would consider something larger. Im not a big fan of watches on the larger side anyway, so I'm hoping this will work for me . I ordered from amazon today, so ill report back later this week.

This is the only visually similar watch to the one listed above

but the 44mm feels very large on my wrist.

hey Cool you did your home work, thats all I was getting at, since most people just pick something out on line and go from there and may or may not be genuinely happy with it in the long run or even before they wear for the 1st hour. Being this is an early wedding gift from your soon to be wife, its all the more important to be 100% sure your going to be absolutely in love it when it arrives, that is the only reason I brought it up, if this was a general advise post I would likely have never mentioned it.

Congrats on a good 1st time piece, and the impending nuptials

                      Thanks for the input.

She wanted to get me something in the next price level. But I was having trouble justifying spending $4000 vs $400 if I wasn't truly in love. I really wanted the breitling I tried on. It was a transocean chrono 1461 black dial black crock band but they wanted $10,000 in store. Which would REALLY stretch us right now. Even 6500 online is way pushing our current budget with the wedding upcoming.

In the end if this thing ticks too loud it will drive her nuts and I'll test drive a grand seiko spring drive bc I read they are silent... We shall see

The Hamilton Khaki field watch is a timeless classic, kinda like the Submariner. I had one once and then sold old it. I regret it.

SKX007J wearers... How accurate is your watch? I have to correct mine weekly. My other Seiko Automatic only requires adjustment monthly... I'm wondering if I should send it in for service.
