Fuk cancer!
Mine is 4 years and 4 months remission.
Some things you need to know.
1 It is not a death sentence. harsh as that sounds we cancer patients have to face it before we fight it.
2 Do what you can to pay the bills. Five a month in Florida shows you are working on it. Right now throw the anxiety about bills out the fuking window.
3 DO NOT walk your ass into our room and ask "how we are feeling?" with that horrible brow wrinkled face. We are not dead and we feel like shit. If you can't keep a smile on your face because you are happy to see us, stay out.
4 There is no TRYING in cancer. Either do it or don't do it. Everything is HARD WORK. If you need to eat or shit, do it or don't do it. Make a decision you can live with. This is not the time to "try." I "try" every term to vote for the right president. How's that working?????
5 We cancer patients think we are a burden. In part, we are. We don't want the weight transferred to the hearts of those we love. Know that and respect it.
6 Listen to us. Give us time to answer. The treatment will beat our asses and make simple dialog a labor intensive chore. I got to a point where I could only text Y for yes, N for no.
7 This is not the time for a cancer patient to focus on the challenges of the day to day. is the water bill paid, did I let the dog out? You fill that role now.
8 We know its harder on family than it is on us. Reminding me that, "dad, I remember when I was a kid, i wet my bed!" Turns humiliation and despair into a laugh fest.
9 This is a war winnable by defeating each battle. One at a time.
10 All I wanted was someone to hold my hand and clean sheets.
Fuk cancer.
This r3v group helped me get through it all. Some of the best friends here a man could ask for. Fight the fight. You got all of us brother!Last edited by FL318is; 08-08-2013, 08:54 AM.

^^^This^^^ Well said, FL318is.
My childhood friend for the past 3 decades just had a cancerous tumor removed from his kidney as well. He was very lucky, they caught it super early. I hope it's the same with your pop.
Whoever said, "now is not a time to worry about bills and shit" is right. Make minimum payments and deal with it later. Cancer is a winnable war, you need to find all the best resources out there.

FL318is, thank you so much for the advice. Me and my dad always try to make each other laugh so I have continued to try to up the mood and keep his spirits up. He is also a diabetic so it further complicates things for him. We are waiting on results to see if the cancer has spread to bone or lungs, so far it only seems to be a mass in his right kidney 6cm big. Will update everyone on his progress, once again, thank you all for the support.YOUTUBE: AR Perez

Im thankful I have never had to deal with health complications from my parents, but my prayers go out to you man. I cant even imagine the pain and anxiety I would be feeling in the situation.
But stay positive. We have skills a technology to help save peoples lives including your dad's.I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

I had to deal with health issue with my father in the last few years. It is a horrible feeling.
I also watched it age my father after I got burned and spent almost a year in hospitals and the following 4 years of surgeries.
Be aware of your other family members too (your mom, etc) & how it effects them. Try to comfort your mom too. I could jack it all (for the most part ) on my own ( I wish I had someone to help, but I am stubborn) and never realized the effect it had on others. I felt like shit for seeing the effect it had. Your dad does not need to see that.
I also got skin cancer 2 1/2 years post burns and they had to cut a huge chunk out of my leg to remove it. Being diagnosed with cancer is the worst feeling in the world, there is so much unknown in front of you and so many unanswered questions. Just be positive with every interaction you have with him.seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

VERY GOOD NEWS, the urologist my dad was seeing recommended us to the Huntsman Cancer Center which is part of the University of Utah. They are a non-profit organization that can waive 99% of the cost of an operation. I just received a call from them saying they have reviewed my dad's case and have decided to help us out, we are only gonna end up paying $200! Thank you to everyone here for the support and for the prayers, this is a huge weight off my shoulders :DYOUTUBE: AR Perez
