    I have been in a similar situation when I was still in high school. My dad and his trip to Mayo in MN to confirm the ALS diagnosis

                Surgery was a success! Now it's the long road to recovery but he is doing well.

                Thanks for keeping my fam in your thoughts peeps :D

                  Great to hear! Hope he recovers quickly. I've recovered from enough surgeries to know how much it sucks.

                      I'm really tired so excuse any mispellings. I want to just update this thread; we had our first follow up after the surgery on Thursday. Doc said he is healing up just fine and pending the 6 month check up and chest scan, he is cancer free.

                      I've been working my ass off trying to make lots of ends meet but I think we will be allright after all. My dad is in really good spirits and I'm really looking forward to having him back to full health soon.

                      This entire experience has been totally shocking to say the least, and I just want to shout out to everyone who took a second to wish him well on here, it's serioulsy humbling to know that people whose only common interest is a 20 year old car can rally around and support a complete stranger in times of need. I hope to have the opportunity to pay it forward someday. Also, I appreciate all the peeps who have PMd me to wish my family encouragement, you know who you are and from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

                      Off to bed, keep on trucking r3v :up: :up: :up:
