I'm 6'3" 208-210lbs. I need to have my BF checked.

My buddy I workout with is 6'4/5" and around the same weight. He can lift more than me in most areas.

We just started doing that last week to get strength/bulk. Im a loot weaker than I expected, it was kind of a wake up call.

Before we were been doing a mild workout with sets of 3 and reps anywhere from 8-12. Hopefully I will see some results. I'm not participating in this million pound challenge, but I will keep updated to see how it goes.

Hey, you realizing that you want to workout more often is a huge step. Just keep going and before you know it you'll...still be disappointed and want to be bigger/stronger. It's a never ending battle against yourself.

I'm tiny compared to these other monsters in this thread. I weigh in at 180ish now and at 6'.

Well I've been working out 3-5 days a week since the beginning of this year. I lost 30 pounds and gained some muscle in the first 5 months or so, but I then hit a plateau. I stopped working out as much over summer cause I wasn't seeing results. Move down to san diego for college and with a gym super close I started going 3-5 days a week again. Still seeing little results after about a month and a half or so. Just started the new heavy weight lifting last week so I'm realllyy hope to start seeing better results. Only time will tell.

I don't even like having two people in my car let alone if I weighed 250 pounds.

Not sure what your concern is with two people in your car. B25 hauls me and four other people around just fine. Might not be fast, but then again I'm not racing, and I have a proper suspension settup.

I am 6'2" 187lbs 11.4% BF. I am tall and appear to be very thin. I haven't seen any really heavy weights posted. So I don't know which ones you are comparing. But that is the first thing you don't want to do, when you go to the gym. Never compare yourself to anyone else, that will either give you an ego or a complex.

There is always going to be someone who is stronger and who can lift more. Work with what you have and progressively improve. It takes time and dedication. Also be mindful of your diet.

I have been lifting for about a year and a half consecutively. I use to lift a lot about 10 years ago. I lifted consecutive for about 5 years. And I was much bigger and a lot stronger than where I am now. I got hurt(not from lifting) had surgeries and rehab. And about two years ago the doctor said I could start lifting again.

It was humbling starting over. But in time and with dedication you will grow. Stay patient, and don't give up. Research and ask questions and constantly push yourself to progressively improve. Keep up the good work everybody.

Good advice. I try not to compare myself, but inevitably I do sometimes.

I personally am horrible at dumbells. I had a bad experience with someone incorrectly spotting me and dropped a weight on me. I haven't done much of them since then. Starting up again though.

Another thing is, I really need to work on my form. Was doing bench yesterday and I felt it a lot in my arms rather than chest. I tend to cheat when I'm doing a lot of weight.

Does anyone have problems with their hands starting to hurt?

as in the skin of your palms ripping and forming calluses? That happened for the first few weeks or so, now they're permanent. I'd practice with gloves/wrist straps to see what works best for you. For barbell bench adjust your grip for wider if you're only feeling it in your arms, and pace yourself with lower weight and practice good form before trying weight that's too much to handle.
Try and find someone 'experienced' to lift with too, co-worker, friend, etc..

Thats why my e30 is in the process of being powered my a turbo'd LS motor. Weight will never be an issue. I also have about 3 times as much moeny wrapped into my suspension then what I paid for the car. Because racecar.

Heavy weight will make your hands sore. Please don't were gloves........I do wear wrist wraps on pressing days as I have broken both wrists back in HS.

Some people seem to really like using gloves for going heavy, I personally just use wrist straps. Still manage to hurt the hell out of them, I need to take it light for a week or so, doing forearm exercises to strengthen it all up.

I wear gloves for hygiene I have been to a few different gyms were there was blood or mucus on a few barbells. I don't want whoevers, what ever they have. I have plenty of calluses on my hands from working. I wear wrist straps because they seem to help me.

                              Chest, shoulders and abs today.

                              Weighted dips +10lbs(197) x 10= 1970 + (+25lbs(212) x 10= 2120 x 3=6360)= 8330
                              Cable cross overs: 50lbs each arm: 100 x 10= 1000 + (60lbs each arm: 120 x 10= 1200 x 3= 3600)= 4600
                              Dumbbell press: 90lbs each arm: 180 x 6= 1080 x 3= 3240
                              Shoulder dumbbell press: 65lbs each arm: 130 x 6= 780 x 3= 2340
                              Shoulder press behind neck: 145 x 5= 725 x 3= 2175
                              Chest press: 180 x 9= 1620 + (230 x 3= 690 x 2= 1380)= 3000
3 sets of 10 decline bottoms up. No weight abdominal exercise
                              3 sets of 10 hanging pikes: 187 x 10= 1870 x 3= 5610

                              8330 + 4600 + 3240 + 2340 + 2175 + 3000 + 5610= 29,295

                              Total 626,475 in 43 days(started 09/10/2013). 1,000,000 - 626,475= 373,525lbs to go in 47 days.

I have off tomorrow, I will update again on Friday.

Thats just freakin gross. I'm happy with my gym, they keep it REALLY clean, never ran into that. I don't wear gloves, never have, about as close as I get to that is wrist straps on back days for some movements because we are not allowed to use chalk.
