90% of my job is drawing bridge plans on microstation.
      5% is doing remedial algebra
5% is putting hard copy plans together.
      100% is boring...

But yeah like mentioned before, I work in a downtown location so we always walk around, go get drinks adn shop around. Me and the work GF walk around and then that gets boring.
I'll go over and talk shit with a few folks and that gets boring.

We used to be able to hook up our laptops and then leave for the day. Our old boss never knew and if he did he didn't give a hoot (remote). Since then we've gotten a new boss and she makes us check in on office messenger randomly.

I'm just not sure how much longer I can keep this up. In case anyone was wondering, my job doesn't have a constant workflow. It comes and goes. There's times of the year where we're working 24/7 and there's times when we are idle for as long as 2-3 months. I literally get paid to sit here.

I work on e30's for a living (and a few other BMW's/German cars), so I don't have a desk job. But sit in front of the PC often to order parts and will browse forums in the process.

A good paycheck, no one really bothers me during the day - they just let me get my work done, take the odd long lunch.

Also allows me to be able to make sure the wife has really good healthcare coverage since she is self-employed.

My workplace doesn't have WiFi at all. We're cable only and we run port security looking for rogue devices.

We have an LTE repeater though so I get killer cell service in the building.

                      My daily routine:

                      Wake up late
Get to work 10-20 mins late
Get breakfast and spend 30 mins doing that
Listen to Spotify premium in one ear
Work on emails from yesterday evening
R3V for hours about projects I dream of getting to
Look up parts I won't buy for months
                      MediaTakeOut.com for laughs and nonsense
                      Lunch for an hour
tumblr - try to look at shyte that will get me fired
                      More R3V
cruise ebay & craigslist for parts and random crap
once the below is checked off, I'll get to some work flow from today

Hopefully one day I'll be able to work from home and do this all in my boxers.

Same at my job. Used to be able to run a remote proxy program to get around our BS web security but they locked that all down. I'll probably get fired for being on craigslist, ebay, and r3v for half my shift. Anyone have an alternative program that can me ran as a portable or doesnt need admin clearance to install? Would love a little more privacy. Especially since these thing blocks ALL streaming media so no tunes for me.

The phone repeater goes down like twice a week so it kills my netflix during lunch habit.

Use a proxy website or modify your browser settings to use a proxy IP.

We're locked down also but I'm in IT so they gave me enough rope to hang myself by. The only thing blocked at my level is porn. Now the userbase on the other hand....they get only about 25 websites to use, all business related.

Well idk if i can get to any website that would allow me to change my IP. Was using.....ultrasurf? I think. Was great did that got found out and it wasn't capable to connect to the remote servers. Not sure what they changed their security system to but it's somethin' special now!

one more week and my desk will be the one in my living room (with occasional trips to ATL).

i don't anticipate having trouble maintaining my work ethic- really excited for the new job.
