I'm a draftsman so I'm at my desk constantly. Luckily I get the excuse to go for a walk outside or walk through the shop and talk to a bunch of people. I do get restless from time to time but compared to all the other jobs I've had, this is a walk in the park and I absolutely love my job. I've been doing it for a year now and I've had nothing but fun since I started and time has FLOWN by.

I used to love my job until I found out how evil it is. The scenery was amazing at first but now Idk. I absolutely hate my job because I know what I do is helping an evil corporation. I'm actively seeking something else though

i couldn't do a desk job. i don't have the makeup for it. i really have to admire those of you that do and actually enjoy it. i have had a few jobs of this sort when i was in school. at least i could look at them with the thought that it was something temporary. for me, they were always motivation to better myself and get off my ass to find something better.sigpic

Man, I hope some of you guys aren't posting this from your work account. lol
I do spend some time on here but generally I'm too busy to waste an entire day online. Plus I'd never get anything done and I actually do have responsibilities. :p
I do, however, have the benefit of showing up when I want and leaving when I want.. taking lunch when I want.. and working on what I want to.
I have a training session to prepare for in 3 hours though so I'd better get to work. ;)

When at my office I am usually spending 25% of the time pushing paperwork, 25% BSing with random people 25% online doing who knows what and the other 25% is a mixed bag usually working around between my buildings making sure whats going on. but I am only here about 50% of the time the rest I am office driving to or visiting a customer, taking the to lunches checking models etc. If I had to sit here 40+ a week I would go nuts in about 3 days.2011 JGC daily, 1985 944

I swear to god if it wasn't for the SMS lab in gmail I would have murdered someone by now. It's rather frustrating when I'm the youngest person in my department by over 20 years and I've been put in charge. Ran out of common interests the first month there.

Yes. I think I'll find someone to sext with now actually.
I also know how it feels to be the youngest. I am 24 and most of my co-workers are 35-45. There's not much we can talk about. They brag and boast about their new house or cars. I just get to talk about my awesome little daughter. Everytime someone ask or I mention my love for project cars or e30's, they all "hmmmm, idk I guess".
The only other sweet thing about being in the office is hearing all the gossip. OMG. if you're like me and you just don't give a shit, then you'll find it amusing at least. The cheating wives, slutting husbands, alcoholics.... Man it's like everything I grew up watching on TV. There's been so many ladies here who's husbands show up at work to find out who they're fucking. So far two have been caught. One of them came with a trench coat and an AR tucked in there. He was ready to do damage.
Another thing about being the youngest guy here is, I get all the attention from the milfs. It's crazy awesome at first. Then it gets old. I was slapping 40yr old coochie away left and right. Should've caught some of it to be honest.

That's one thing that gets so annoying. All the backhanded drama bullshit. Mostly fueled by facebook too. I seriously can't believe how caught up these 50 year old women get in facebook. It's that or "did you watch Anderson today?".
Had a lot of crap thrown my way when I first was pulled into the department with all these biddies running to my supervisor at every opportunity trying to discredit me. Can't wait to find another job...

I've often considered a desk job to get out of manual labor.
Then I realize it's one of those "grass is greener situations"
I take for granted being able to go outside whenever I want.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

I really do not like my job.
Slinging parts at an Indie shop. Sit at a desk all day. Inventory. Returns. Deal with stupid fucking people.
I love it when I started, but I'm over it. I'm over the automotive industry. Been looking on Clist daily to find something local and interesting.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5
