I just bought my first camera last week. All the other shots are on borrowed camera. Picking up and shooting is really the best way to get better, practice is where its at.

$1,000 for the body, one lens, and a 2gb memory card. I've shot 750 pics on it in less than a week. Practice makes perfect right?

I don't believe in all of that fancy photoshop work, Its cheating IMHO- but thats just me. Occasionally if I really fuck a shot up, I'll use the shadow/highlight function- but thats it... Consequentally, my photography doesnt come out as "hip" as TJ's, but its an accurate representation of what I was shooting that day.

I'm really impressed with alot of you guy's work-

Most of my pics don't have much PS; usually some cropping, levels, and unsharp mask on out of focus pictures. Just because a picture has good colors, sharpness, or anything else doesn't mean it was Photoshopped.

I realize- but any photoshop is photoshop- a little can go a long ways- I used to PS all the time before I got my XT, just because I didnt have the creative freedom with my camera.

I've always loved your photography- You use low f-stops and focal points to your advantage- The result is usually pretty amazing. I love the pics of your car in the garage.

We take the art from different aspects- If i had more time, i'd probably still shoot with film- I would just rather spend my time taking pictures, than being cooped up in a darkroom.

I see what you are saying and I agree with you, I just took what you said the wrong way. The way I look at is even the legendary film photographers of the last century spent a lot of time on post processing in the darkroom too. Go to an Ansel Adams exhibit and you might see 3-5 different original versions of the same picture.

Photoshop is the digital darkroom :)
