They are completely silly, but that's part of the appeal. I have two friends who bought them (both SRF drivers, amusingly), and they are very happy. It's not going to be the best at anything, but it drives well enough and it's charming.

I had a 69hp 1.2L rental in the UK and it was surprisingly entertaining.

I worked for Chrysler for a bit and got to drive them at the proving grounds a fair amount. Granted this is from someone who drives an M42 car, but I thought it was a hoot, and much more willing than a MINI. Really there were only a few things I didn't like, mainly the seating position and some of the interior bits.

I like it for a city beater, been considering one. I'm 6'1 250lb and I fit in it fine. FWD sucks, but I think it sounds cool and looks less gay than mini cooper or a miata.

No thanks would rather find a Golf TDi if I was looking for a newer fwd car. They are neat looking just impractical as the back seat is smaller than my 318Ti's.

I was driving down the 101 and heard this throaty exhaust and it was a fucking abarth. It sort of blew me away but that alone doesn't sell teh car. I thought they were like 16,000 dollars and assumed rear wheel drive. Since they are 23,000 like someone said that would turn me off right there. The fwd doesn't help either but again, liek someone said that isnt what they are all about.

I could not fit in one. Not enough head clearance for me, I do like the look of the Abarth.

I can't imagine a car with a shittier transmission than the smart car.

Everybody keeps saying this, but you do realize the amount of horsepower we're talking about here... unless you're looking for some dorifto action, this thing is pretty decent, and it does rotate well. As a small, fun car on the street, the FWD barely makes a difference. I'm as big a proponent of RWD as any of you and I still thought it was pretty darn good.

Way cooler than a mini bar the JCW gp, great car in the city but I think you don't really see all of their abilities in North American, fundamentally suited to European life.

And fucking lol at everyone saying needs to be rwd, get over yourself.

NO it has to be rear wheel drive. Only E30s are good car.

Hmm, lets see overall most here don't want a FWD for the reason oh that's right it's FWD. If we wanted one we'd be on a FWD type forum right? Nobody said The Abarth has to be RWD just we don't one because of that reason.
