One of the best highschool biology teachers in Lawrence was fired, and denied his retirement for telling one of his students that they needed to "stop believing the bullshit her parents are telling her and start learning the truth" when she asked him when he was going to spend equal time on creationism while he was teaching about evolution. soon after that the only other highschool biology teacher worth a shit in this town (and the best teacher in my highschool IMO) quit before he got fucked out of his retirement. and now the school board is trying to stop teaching evolution altogether.
