It's not an infant in the womb, it's a fetus. It cannot live without the mother body.

It cannot make decisions on it's own, so it's up to it's mother to make these decisions for it. It is to be assumed that the mother will do that best for the fetus, and in some cases the best thing to do is destroy it.

I think you guys are looking at it a bit wrong. Maybe abortions do kill living beings...but the fact of the matter is that fetus's taste good. Marinate those babies overnight in teriyaki, grill, and serve with rice and you've got yourself a feast. Who could argue with that?

Not everyone here are for abortion for the reason that the fetus does not count as a 'human' as you wrongly counter argued for.
To me, whether or not the fetus may entitle human or not is irrelevant as to the reasons in which I am for abortion.
Whether or not the fetus is a human or not, I believe is a matter of semantics and nothing else.

No one has answered your question because so far as our discussion here goes, your question is quite irrelavant. You have not answered any of my questions either, and I urge you too, because I have explicitely asked questions which may contradict any anti-abortionists.

This is a great thread. I'm glad I started it. Here's my .02 cents on the whole thing. I don't give a crap. Guess what? We are big bags of meat and bones that have a shelf life of about 80 years. After that, we're dead. I am certainly not going to waste my time deciphering the rules of an imaginary guy in the sky. I play poker with jesus, the easter bunny, the toothfairy and the swamp thing twice a week. I can tell when the're bluffing. So that avenue is out. I think it is totally the right of the woman to make the decision. Do you have any idea how much the violent crime rate has gone down since Roe v. Wade? Where do you think these abortions are coming from? ASU are you going to set up a college fund for each of these unwanted children? Children that will probably grow up in poverty, with one parent? No? How about agree to pay say, an extra 20% in taxes? How much time do you spend weekly tutoring or mentoring underpriveleged kids? Then you have no say in the matter. Nobody does. Not me, or you, or Jebus, or anyone. Because anyone can point the finger and say whats right and whats wrong, I have opinions too. But that's where the buck stops. We are not the ones raising the child. I have a kid, a 4 yr. old little girl. I hope to raise her with enough knowledge and wisdom to be able to make the decision on her own. I hope she never, ever has to make that decision, but if she does I do not want the government making it for her. This is the USA where we are supposed to be free. Lets keep it that way.

Ok so I didn't read ALL of what everyone had to say on this post, but here's my 2 cents, seeming as I'm currently living in south dakota....

Government is fucked.. It has been for years... I hate to say it, but the downhill spiral started with president bush... yes I said it...
Its things like this that happen in our great country that really make me want to run for office and make things change.. I do enjoy the fact however that I can make posts such as this, and say that our government is fucked.. It IS my right to do so... If you don't like profanity, or are easily offended by sac-religion, or other such anti-government(seeming as religion and government are the same thing now...) you shouldn't bother reading furthur...




As far as the new abortion laws go,, no abortion whatsoever with exception of saving the womans life... What kind of psycho twisted sadistic fucked up bullshit is this? I find myself wondering if these politicians have ever seen poverty, drug abuse, or rape victims.. Of course they haven't.. they see their perfect little religious families, and they rely on their religion to get them through the polls because that's what the greater america sees as a good moral grounded person... I don't agree with abortion as a form of birth control.. no one should.. but if a person can't provide for the baby, and WONT put it up for adoption because their heads are clouded with drugs or lies, the baby, the child, the SOUL is the one that will stuggle and suffer.. Women who are raped.. This is against their will!! Why should they have to carry some asshole crackhead's bastard child? Because some overpowered politian is sittin in his cushy office with $300 bucks in his back pocket, preaching his religion on someone else?
The government in South Dakota has NEVER seen crime,, they have NEVER seen drugs, and they have most certainly NEVER EVER had to deal with the likes of rape or any of the reprocussions associated with any of it... at least not on any type of monumental scale where such a thing would happen daily (i.e. Baltimore, DC, New York...)
I guarantee if any of those politicians daughters got raped and impregnated with a bastard child, they would scream for an abortion.... Religion does great things for people.. I won't deny that.. But through my short years on this earth, I have seen it do a lot more bad than good... It can corrupt, it can decieve, and it can force things upon people that should not be forced...
