I would personally wait for another car. That is, unless you take it to a decent body shop and get everything run over and it checks out. But either way, probably better to just wait it out.Comment

Long time lurker, but as someone who owns an 06 STi, and a few WRX's previously, I'm confused as to why that particular one posted is missing its rear roof vane. It's got all the other STi specific bits (Intercooler, guage cluster, 6 speed trans) but does not have the roof vain. Either the previous owner removed it themselves and covered the 4 mounting holes, or the body damage required replacement of the rear quarter panels and the repairs were done with the incorrect parts.
The price also seems fishy. The hawkeyes (06/07) usually sell for 22K+ online and even salvage titled ones go for a fair amount. The only sub 15k STi's you can find (in the us at least) are the older 2004 models with high milage or something that has been beat to hell and back. Personally I'd pass on this one unless you can get more info on it. Look on Nasioc and IWSTI and something good will pop up. Also, you may want to look into importing an older model from Japan, if you can in Canada.
For what it's worth, I love mine. It drives totally different from any BMW, and they can be quirky cars, but I've always had a blast with it. Good luck finding a good one.
I would hold out and actually buy an STi over a WRX. The DCCD center diff and higher quality differentials in the STi transmission makes driving in the snow an absolute dream.
++Edit++
It looks like it could also be one of the STi limited models. Iirc they did not have the roof vanes but still had the rear fender flairs. If you can get a VIN from it that may confirm it. The limiteds had the AUX input for the radio in the ash tray by the shifter and a wingless trunk, but it's fairly common for subaru owners to swap trunks around for the STi wing. The prices still seems fishy to me if that was the case then.Last edited by Hakkon; 12-28-2013, 11:47 PM.Comment

good info.. i appreciate that.. This is a limited.. and I do have the vin.. if you look at my original post I put up the car proof that I ran.. I think i will steer away from this.. I also low balled the guy to 13 k and he said he would take it.. he is really desperate to sell.. I don't need this car.. I just thought it would be a good value.. but, after reading more into it.. I'll prob pass.. As for the old sti's from japan.. There are a ton out here for sale.. they range from like 4 to 9 k.. i think it would be super annoying driving on the wrong side of the car though..Comment
