I-80? You're lucky you made it there without blown tires/bent control arms. That section just west of the OH/PA border is miserable.

Edit: Never mind, looks like I-70 is better for you.

you guys do relize your perdicted for up too a foot of snow in the 24 hours right. If they are not out there trying to keep ahead of the shit you all will be bitching that you cant get anywhere.

I will take salt any day over the Magnesium/Calcium Chloride they use out west. That shit will eat a car in no time, and its fucking sticky.

All this said I wish people would learn to drive in the shit, 2 inches of snow and these fools in WV are driving 22 mph out on the highway.

Same thing here if/when we get 0.5". Anything over 2" and they'll simply close everything. Hell, they close the schools for the mere threat of snow, or if it gets really cold (< 20º).

            LOL

Yeah this is my 3rd winter with at least part of it spent working WV. This morning, what should have been about a 40 min drive in the weather took right at an hour. Thanks to the morons plugging up both lanes at 22-28mph. Roads were a little slick but I was able to maintain 55-60 where I could, so I would think 40-45 would be a reasonable speed if your uncomfortable with a little snow. You know what we call today at home this time of year........................ Tuesday not OMG SNOW shut it all down we cant get anywhere day

The bad stuff is all south of where I live, and certainly not up in Albany. I should get about 4 inches. That said, if I could agree with your last statement more than 100%, I would. Hazards on, can't remember where the lanes are, slamming on the brakes....

Frequent washes or a garage all winter.

Yes, rocks. It has the highest windshield replacement rate of any province, and that's the people who decide to replace it. A walk around town and you'll notice just about every vehicle has a cracked windshield. I got three chips/cracks in 1-month. I now drive around with a Pertex chip-repair kit in the glovebox.

A, it is sand, and B, you can have a car that is more than three years old in Alberta that still has factory rocker, floor, and quarter panels in place and rust free...Atlantic Canada should fucking buy me a new car every 4 years as they rust into nothing that fast with all the salt. I would say it looks like the great state of NY loves the salt too.

Yesterday on the way home from work. All ice.

....even this morning it was worse. I'm kinda pissed as last "storm" we got nothing and they were throwing brine down on roads like crazy. Even the main highway was ruts with V-DOT trucks just driving around full of salt, not throwing it.

Yarp. I'm one of those overconfident 4x4 drivers who doesn't give a fark.

But no, I was going like 2 mpg, literally. This this is a beast in the snows.
