          however, you dont say "interstate" so its not so awkward. you do have a point though, i should've changed one of the options to "the 5" like mentioned earlier. i only recently started saying "i" because ive been brainwashed by washington ppl.

              The I5 is the correct grammar.

                It is a Norcal - Socal thing.

                In Norcal, people generally don't use the. (take 205 to 5 north...)
                In Socal, people use the. jump on the 5.

                Nobody I know says I though. There is no need to say I-5
