As Jake and Steve said,.. take the 2-lane roads. I'm in LA if you need access to tools and parts let me know.

As suggested take highway 1 north from LA and not the 5.

Speaking of hostels in Cali, stay away from the Adelaide in downtown San Fran. Wasn't bad, but it was considerably more expensive having to leave my car in a parking garage. Plus, not as nice. But a HUGE thumbs up to the Fisherman's wharf one. That place was not only AWESOME, but holy hell did I have fun drinking with a huge group of international people there.

Also, the Whiteaker hostel in Eugene was pretty cool. Very laid back people. I ended staying for free because I fixed some electrical issues they had in the house.

Currently staying in Dallas, tx at some family friends house, last night we stayed in Fort Worth at a distant relative of mine. We had no wifi for the last 2 days so today is the first night with a connection.

Currently trying to find a place in Austin, we are thinking about finding an apartment or something to lease out for a month or so. Possibly try to sublease under someone for the month of march.

We have been invited to spend spring break in South Padre for a week so we are trying to make that work out if we can stay in Texas for a while.

Currently driving to a house in Austin tx for nights stay.
We are looking at finding a place to rent for the month of May, we'd live to check out sxsw and we have been invited to south padre island for spring break, who knows what that might bring

We have been couch surfing in Austin Tx for the last week. Last night we made the drive to Houston with our host to meet her family, we are only here for a day before we head back to Austin. Lots of updates on the blog link in the first post.

I figured I would try update you guys now that we are finally posted up in Phoenix for a while.

Since we left Austin Tx, we have stopped in Marfa, Carlsbad, Roswell, White Sands National Monument, and Gila National Forrest. We are now staying at my buddies aunts house here in phoenix, we will probably be staying here for few months. I will most likely be getting a job down here to make some extra cash for the rest of the trip.

We've got some big news tho! In Austin we met some Swiss girls who were in town visited their friend (the first girl we couch surfed with), we happened to hit it off with the girls really well and they have invited us to go to Switzerland to stay with them for a few months! We are hoping to get some jobs here in Phoenix to try make enough money to fly to Europe, my fingers are crossed as this would be a huge dream of mine.
