Indeed. My advice is don't fuck with ouija boards or anything half serious relating to anything occult. I'm sure there are others who would say do what you want because there's nothing behind them but some silly fun.

    Pascal's Wager

I've seen this viewpoint often and to me that doesn't seem like TRUE belief. Just saying it for public opinion points.
I'm just saying that yes, I believe in a heaven and a hell and that there was a higher force that made things happen. That being said, I think all God wants is for people to be happy and treat each other well, not carry anger and vengance in our hearts and to be nice to each other.

Even as a kid, meeting adults in church who seriously believed there was a guy named Moses who lived to be over 600 years old I found hard to swallow. As long as that belief didn't hurt me, who cares? Now creationism and laws passed that affect other people based on one, or a few, people's religious beliefs on what is "right" or "moral" is very very wrong.

And I suppose I was kind of wishy washy with my statement above as well. I do believe in monevolent spirits, call them demons, or ghosts or poltergeists. I do not try to fuck around with certain things because of that.

That link is a very interesting read. I'd never heard of it before.

    Yes. The answer is yes.

I have to say I agree.

Better to just leave well enough alone. There is some crazy shit that happens out there. I prefer to not be the source of the next exorcism movie.

I'm all for paranormal discussion, as I love the stuff, but I don't see this going well.

The Bible today is so modified from it's original context, all to serve and empower the most powerful entity in the world at the time.

WOW this is going P&R quick, lol.

pretty much. "the 'word of god' is my starting point, everything else comes from there."

i think bill nye made a mistake in debating the guy; he gave legitimacy where it wasn't deserved.

No. I respect those who do not beleive in any higher entity by really not caring one way or another, I just find it frustrating having to defend it constantly, so I tend to keep it to myself even when discussion comes up. I think that something that to most is such a large question can only be decided on from your own thoughts, feelings and beliefs, so trying to push what you believe and make others believe the same is useless and not productive.
