I transferred to Columbus from Atl last june. The import scene in the south is AWESOME and the weather/women are great. I kinda regret moving here and once I put my year in I'm transferring back south.

I work for a KIA/Hyundai parts dist in south Columbus btw. If your seriously looking for a job PM me for details. We're temp to perm and we have PLENTY of work. Bust your ass for a year and a half and you can transfer anywhere in the U S..like I did...for free :)Last edited by Hans Gruber; 03-16-2014, 08:06 AM.My Pleasure:02 Honda 954, 02 Fronty 4x4

I mention Metric Mechanic because it is a great way to empty your wallet to get unverified horsepower gains."

Interesting thread bump. Still looking into a move and am wanting to get into outside sales rep within the action sports industry. Have numerous friends who do this and make a decent living and thoroughly enjoy the work, but most of it is west coast based. For the time being I was hired on as a manager at a large power washing company. It's ok but I don't really enjoy the work but the upper management is very interested in keeping me around so they're already talking about a raise and/or possible promotion.91 318is M50 swapped

I know you were joking, but Saratoga Springs is a great town. It has one of the better music venues in the county (SPAC), big time horse racing w/ casino, skiing in Lake Placid is a day trip, so are thousands of lakes, and driving 3 hours will put you in Boston, NYC, or Montreal.

Downside: Taxes, politics, winter (if it's not your thing).Comment

This is a gift in disguise. And good on your boss for helping out.

If I was in a position to move (and I might be at some point if the wife changes jobs), there aren't many cities I would particularly care to move to, but these would be on my short list.

All true. Taxes are the worst. Not sure what the job market is like over that way but it's a bit rough further west where I live.

Nashville is great. One of the coolest little cities, not too far south that you hear banjos playing and has some great guys in the e30 scene.Comment

Yeah, Nashville rocks. Can't wait to go back and visit again, haven't been there in 3 years.

Austin would also be cool, but I'd have a hard time moving somewhere that's hot for more of the year than Tulsa.

 Thought I'd bump this thread.

In a week I'm driving across the country for a fresh start in the LA area. After pursuing a handful of options elsewhere I and nothing looking great or panning out, I focused on Southern California for the weather and large population of bicycle related jobs. Spent some time researching and decided that's where I wanted to start. Polished up my resume and sent it out to a handful of companies. At first got very little response considering Im still in Columbus and relocating 2400 miles isn't exactly a small chore to do for a job. Finally after about three weeks of searches I got a call from a fix gear/commuter bike company out there who was really interested in me. Emailed back and fourth for a bit and finally decided it was time to dive in head first. I used the plane ticket offer from my previous boss, booked a flight and showed up for an interview. They basically offered me a job on the spot doing nearly exactly what I was doing at my previous job. It's almost too perfect. So in a weeks time I'm relocating to Long Beach, CA. To say I'm excited is an understatement.91 318is M50 swapped
