More case fans is NOT the answer! Proper air flow and a proper heat sink IS the answer.

Yesss. To much positive/negative pressure will cause excessive heat. Have to figure out what is the most efficient push/pull fan placement for your case.

Pantless assuming you have a normal case you will have need of only 2 fans, if you have heat issues maybe four/five.

I recommend for sure one on the back, you NEED a single exhaust on the back, dont listen to anyone else about "more static pressure intakes" bullshit, add a single intake on the front on the middle fan area so both gpu and cpu get fed air. If heating issues persist, add 1-2 fans on the top and another fan to the front.

If you need fans I have a shit ton id send for free.99 if you pay shipping, nice corsair fans too. Or if your a sound snob like me by some noctua NF-S12A and never hear fan noise again.

DO NOT WATERCOOL, its a fad, its not colder, and its not something for a noobie. If your ballin on a budget get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103099 its a great cooler for the money, and tons of people use it with good results. If you feel like dropping change get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835608040 which is made by one of the best quality brands ive ever owned.

Have fun, and make sure to post up your steam/origin/etc ID for us to come kill you in games.

Hahahaha I've done entire graphs and spreadsheets for hwbot and hardocp and xoxide and what... my server racks, my overclocking machines, my video editing desktops, and water cooling is completely worth it, and does keep your max temps lower (nothing can drop below dT unless you're going with a medium that is powered, like a peltier)

If it's a fad, it's been an awfully long running 'fad' that's been proven to work time-and-time again.

But hey, Pantsless, don't take either of our words for it, just google it for yourself.

Either way, don't put just one fan at the middle of front of the case, that's a terrible idea, you'll just be pushing air straight into your drive bays and it will not have a good flow. Exhaust up top, intake down low (I hope your case has a bottom-mounted PSU).
If you are feeling crafty, get some thick construction paper and form intake pipes to each of the components that need it, and route them to outside case ventilation areas, so that your components pull air not from the hot inner case air, but from the outside. Half of my cases look like pipe works, but working in a room with a couple servers running constantly, you have to find ways to keep some temps cooler.

How come all my cloud servers dont use liquid cooling?

Where are your fancy construction paper air ducts bro, all the pros use them.

For reliability and because if a line pops on a rack it will leak down to the next server and the next and the next. This guy is running a desktop with a single chip that needs cooled, not 4 in a series on an infrastructure that needs constant up time and reliability for users....

Come on people this is ridiculous.

What do you define as pro? Degrees in computer engineering, network engineering, having worked as a network admin for nearly 5 years, holding top 3 spot in hwbot air cooling for various amd chips for years? And right, don't do what the manufacturers do and pipe in air directly from the outside of the case, just pull hot air from the inside of the case like this "pro" suggests. Makes perfect sense (not). Not everyone can mold professional plastic to their specific case, so maybe you can explain what is wrong with getting crafty and making a viable solution yourself out of what you have available? What about that seems crazy and wrong? Please, use your professional knowledge to enlighten all of us.

I used to be against water cooling as well, but after building multiple rigs with various water cooling setups from custom to off the shelf, as well as peltier coolers (condensation becomes an issue), the benefits are obvious, especially for a gaming rig.

Exactly! Most people want there computer to be reliable.. Not water cooled. There is no justifiable reason why a normal user would ever need to consider water cooling. As we all know things wear out over time.. A water cooling system will end up dumping water into your PC possibly ruining it.. A bad fan will start to make a horrible noise and you replace the stock cooler with some after market one.. But if your fan is going out and you actually take care of your computer by cleaning it out.. Its time for a new pc anyway by the time your fan wears out...

tl;dr have fun wasting money on watercooling.. Its pointless for 99% of users imo
