    Forza 4 Drivers' Challenge #28 - Downhill!

    Hey everyone,

I took a combination of last week's suggestions when deciding on this week's challenge. Our car this week will be a completely stock Mazdaspeed RX8, and the track will be the Fujimi Old Downhill! Like last week, no modifications, adjustments, etc. Different transmissions are allowed, but again the manual with clutch provides a noticeable advantage. To post your time, go to Race Results after crossing the finish line and take the picture there. Have fun!

This challenge ends at 11:59pm EST on Friday.
    Leaderboard:

Tip: If you think you need brakes, you more than likely just need to lift (aside from heavy braking zones). The car is very controllable with trailing throttle oversteer.

I started noticing that. It's way easy to lose time by over-braking. I seem to have issues with hitting walls, though. Haha...

Not going to lie, on that last run I scrapped two walls and thought for sure it would be a dirty lap, but somehow it didn't count it. Sometimes if I just get too close to a wall it throws a dirty flag on me.

edit: wow so apparently if you catch a little air it counts as a dirty lap. I had a near perfect lap that was way better than my ghost, and caught a little air, didn't even come close to a wall, and it started flashing the dirty lap indicator. That's bullocks.

Yup. I've had a few taps of the wall that were okay, and a few near-misses that weren't.

That's weird because this lap in an earlier challenge wasn't dirty... ;)

P.S. Nice work on the lap!

It happened a lot on the second turn, I caught air there often and had to restart. Then there was one more spot (turn 5,693) about 60-70% through.

I'm curious. I'll hopefully be able to take a look in the next day or two once I'm off the road.

So where does it show dirty/clean lap? I have seen the symbol on the leaderboards and such, but right now running in Free race/hot lap I haven't seen anything in the race results denoting clean/dirty laps. Probably doesn't help that I am having a hell of a time staying clean lol.

It'll show that hazard symbol to the right of the time in the Race Results in Hot Lap mode.

I got a 4.18.040... I'll upload the pic later. But I think there's still a bit to improve on as I learn the track!
