I graduated two years ago and the business i got into is hard to get into, i graduated as a sound engineer for recording mixing and mastering music.
Do i have the skilss? Yes i do but like ive stated before, its is reeaally hard to get into that business because EVERYBODY and their moms is trying to work in a recording studio.
I to have a recording engineer degree, and while I was able to get my toes into the field, it paid more to pump gas. I produced about 3 albums on a small scale, some of which can be found on itunes now. I went back to school twice after to get into a field where I could pay the rent. Would I live to be a recording engineer today, sure would. Would it likely ever pay the bills..... not sure. The people I saw in the field had been struggling for years, and IMHO were at worst good musicians and very good engineers. To me that was like trying to become a major sports player of any field. You can be amazing, but its very difficult to enter.

See we both have something in common, but Yeah man I graduated two years ago and I've done some work here and there and right now I'm in the middle of working with some new people. All of my professors all had a major struggle to get into the field, and they all told me about how hard it would. They all told me that even once they had their foot in the door they still had to struggle to make ends meet sometimes. Some people think it's easy to get into the field but don't know how hard it is to actually get into it. If you're ever in Cali we should work on some stuff.

Sounds good. I have been to Cali once, but I would love to go back. Do you have a style of music you specialize in, or will you record anything? While I cant offer you work in NJ if you are ever in the area, let me know if you ever end up out here.
