Looks like it might be shaping up to be a decent night for the N/L again tonight. Last night KP was high, KP right now is 3 and was 4.6+ earlier today. Though the nearly full moon tonight might make them harder to see well at lower latitudes as well
Edit: it fell off as we got to the peak viewing hours here at home so it was a bust

a Decent solar flare yesterday and some elevated solar activity the last few days might lead to a good aurora show tonight 9/11- early hours of 9-13, though most of the ejected cloud will go over the top of the earth. According to NOAA space weather forecasts anyway, the only issue is going to the rather full moon washing and drowning out the aurora especially the further south you are. Get dark, and where you can see closer to the horizon especially the further south you are

Small blurb about the recent flare in the MSM, mostly trying to tell us the power grid is going to be disrupted, though highly unlikely as this was not nearly a big enough event

It's cloudy here tonight.... we had a hell of a cold front pass through yesterday.

spaceweatherlive.com has a prediction that the KP might reach 6 tomorrow night - maybe I'll have better luck then.... and no clouds

Yeah same cold front brought us our 1st snow of the season above 4000ft and it was 35*F during the day in places in the high country yesterday. I love fall time

well the last 2 nights have been a bust here, last night was slightly cloudy and the KP fizzeled when it started to clear off, and tonight was a bust KP petered out into nothing just as it was starting to get dark so nothing here. Oh well there is a decent forecast for the rest of the weekend will see what tomorrow brings

Your in Montana right? I'm in island park Idaho right now, haven't seen anything yet. I've never seen them I hope I can catch it before I head back home.

Yes but I am much further north, I am about 60 miles form the Canadian boarder. If we see a KP above 5.5 at night and you have a clear N/NE view that will get low to the horizon you should be in luck. There is good forecast for aurora all weekend so keep up looking.

Last night the park had Auroa all over their social media all day and many of the easy to get to spots had NO parking open at 10:30pm when we cam down from the high country in search of food. Glad I didnt hang out way out there waiting on last night, would have been a disappointing LONG walk down in the dark....

yeah about 4am UT about 11pm for you the KP fizzeld form a 6.5-7 down to nothing. Since that would be a little before the Noon meridian would be directly opposite your location it would have been prior to your peek activity.

Hell even soft serve new was crashed out several times last night, and is still down right now

haha I saw that website crashed. spaceweather.com was even having problems too. Walked over the the park at the edge of Lake Erie by us and it was complete cloud cover.... typical Cleveland, haha

you should have had a decent show there were some really incredible shots that came out of northern Maine and NH last night even had some reds in them

Yea I love it up here, we have a cabin on Henry's lake, I try to spend at least a few weeks up here every year. I've been up here since the beginning of August because I hit a moose in my 4runner and have been waiting for it to be fixed.
