    Fucking lowlife POS thieves

It's 2:25am and the police finally left.

This all started at around 10pm when my friend and I left to test drive my car with Megasquirt. We found a drivetrain issue and decided to head back to check it out... Mind you I made it from my apartment to the gate... turned around and came back.

When we get there, we went to pick up something in my friend's car and he notices both doors aren't closed properly.... and they are unlocked (he had locked the doors).

His car is a '96 Nissan 240sx with turbocharged KA, coilovers, 2way, you name it.

Door opens, knee bolster on the floor.... 1/2 of the wiring hanging from the steering column.... key lock cylinder on the ignition busted. They basically had the car.

Had we not come back that car would not be there.

The police came and got some prints from the glass and interior pieces (knee bolster, dash, instrument cluster).

Now I have to get 3 1/2 hours of sleep knowing that there are thieves in the area.... and my car stands out like a sore thumb out there.

    /end rant

Fucken theives, my last e30 was stolen from right in front of my house while away on vacation.

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.

I remember when Jordan put up those motion activated webcams around his house after some unruly kids threw rocks at his car. You should do that. But when you do it. Do it cool. :)

Meh.... 9:16am... hour 2 of my Computer class. I'm dead tired.

Anyhow, yeah... I'm definetly doing something about it. Since my car isnt exactly operational (messed up diff and untuned MS) I doubt it'll be stolen. I removed the battery just to be safe though.

As soon as the car is up and running, I am going to try to leave it on my father's warehouse (if I can manage to fit the car there). If not I spoke with my friend and he has no problem with me leaving my car at his place.

This is why I'd never move to Florida permanently. I love my place there, its fun to visit, but . . .

I can leave my cars unlocked in the driveway with the keys in them where I live now. Nothing happens here. Florida - the little bastard kids will steal your valve stem caps. If its not bolted or welded down, they'll take it - and that is in a supposedly secure gated community.

Sorry for your friend's troubles, Erick.

I used to live in Doral (Miami area)... and the safety was amazing. I never had to worry about anything there. Never heard of any incidents there either.

Where I live now, the cops are here twice a week... every time, someone's car is broken into... or it's someone's apartment. Thank God we can move out in a month. What a nightmare.

I don't even take the keys out of my car at night. And I really can't remember the last time I locked my house door.

Definately not something that only happens in Florida.

As with any place there are good and bad places.

Back home I keep my car unlocked and the keys in it, and the house is always unlocked.

Here in Orlando though, I don't trust people anymore than I trust the UPD not to harrass me.

The closest I have come is someone took opened up one of the little caps to my wheels.

Beyond that the missing radio and flashing LED are probably deterrent enough.
                            Im now E30less.
