I don't think, if I were in that market, I would go for the GTI, Rabbit, or the Putt-putt.

Civic SI is the way to go for a new 200hp car... top great quality, and oh that name, that resounding name HONDA just rings relibility!

The reintroduction of the rabbit nameplate is the tradiational lamo marketer who is going to try and capitalize on the new product life cycle of the mk5 to justify his campaign.
Albeit, i do agree that it is not a bad idea.. but not a great one either. Look at the all the heavy american iron names that are coming back around. People are buying them for no reason. Hey i got a HEMI harde har har har.
As for the golf quality, its about time they get their quality control in America back up to where it should be. Take a look at any european spec VW and you will understand (not saying they aren't shitboxes..but). Now if they could bring the 13Q motor over (1.9l diesel tunable to 150-180hp) i'd be all over that.

What volkswagen needs to do is bring one of the two smaller models the LUPO or the POLO. Either would make a great light chassis for driving fun. Mind you the LUPO in diesel gets close to 70MPG.

That all being said, i'd still rather a mk5 GTI over pathetic 130i BMW.
